Poem: An Ode to Our Mainstream Stars (and to what might have been!)

This is just a little flight of fancy that came to me in the shower this evening.

(If our administrators think it should be moved or deleted, it's okay. A bit of whimsy, that's all).

The silver screen, the little box,
Our favorite actors without socks,
They have thrilled me with the scenes
that replay in my head in dreams;
Fulfilling scenes of tickling bliss
(and even ones of chances missed).

In the fifties, Lucy and Ricky
never even traded hickeys;
But in handcuffs, struggling madly
just to don their flannel jammies,
Rick, that rascally "Cuban Pete"
made Lucy scream Don't tickle my feet!

H. Houdini's world of magic
(though it ended awful tragic)
Gave us J. Leigh in a box
(Bare feet and a head that talks!);
Tony Curtis, with tickling flair,
made Janet say Harry, that's not fair!

We all saw through Hot Lips' scam.
Waiting, barefoot, in her tent
for foot inspection -- Hawkeye went --
Though his face was plenty lewd,
Sadly, for us, no tickling ensued (dammit!)

Jack Tripper didn't let us down.
Crammed in a tent 'twixt roommates fair,
(Janet and Chrissy's feet were bare),
Janet giggled stop! when tickling came
and poor li'l Chrissy got the blame.

Soon her husband would be "dead."
Meantime, though, let's fool around!
I'll tickle you; I love the sound.
Pam's laughter in that Texas palace

Just a smattering of scenes
that run unfettered through my dreams.
Those damn censors must allow
(since it's the 21st Century now)
A cavalcade of laughter loud
to do us TMFers proud.
