View Full Version : How does one get an Artwork Archive?

Archives are only awarded based upon consideration of the TMF's staff. We are always happy to hear your thoughts on who you feel might deserve one, though such suggestions may not always result in an archive, only consideration for one.
Repeated requests, and campaigns to have an archive will not aid the obtention of an archive. They will however make Myriads cranky.

I would like to have my own place to call right here instead of the Yahoo Group. Let me know as soon as possible if I am welcomed here.

I know that I am still a bit of a novice in terms of pictures, but I'm churning out more pictures now that I have more free time, and I'm probably going to have a lot going up soon, so if I could have an archive of my own, I would be very grateful. Thank you very much.

Khali should definitly get her own archive, as should Cheshire and Fairfeather.

Hmmm, maybe Im not welcomed here. That's cool, I can try Tickle Theater and be their exclusive artist.

Kahoshiden, I fail to see why you wouldn't be welcome here. I think you definitely deserve an art archive.
And so do I.

And so do I, for that matter (and I already have a thread with enough support toward said forum, yet more barriers and obstacles and words of irritation are placed to make that less likely...its as if theres a conscious effort being made to keep me from having a forum and with little explaination as to why...though I could venture to guess). I may not update with as much tickling content as the others do, but my work is consistant, and when I do have tickling pictures, its well worth the wait and I pay the time back with quality, I think. I've also been here a very long time now, longer than some of the folks who have their galleries already.
I don't think this "by popular demand" is necessarily practical (since many people are indifferent), even now that the stipulations of having had to participate in the Golden Feathers has been removed. People support their friends, and don't support the people they don't like, plain and simple. I don't think thats completely fair and it's definitely biased to a point, and the artist doesn't even factor into it.
In fact, by having it the way you have, it has created these "campaigning" and "requesting" threads, when it should have been enough, within reason, that the artist asked for one and they met the general requirements of a- having been here for a while, b- updates consistantly, and c- draws/creates tickling material.
Aside from these three ideals, I don't think anything else should factor into it, otherwise its creating unnecessary predetermined standards. And for a community that claims to be about the "amateur" aspect of the art, I see a clear and distinct circle of exclusive cliches and elite behavior going on. If the worry is that too many people would aqquire a forum of their own too easily, and the ideal of the staff is that only the "best" or most "popular" artists should have a forum, I think the people that have asked or have had people ask for them on their behalf is an indication of ideal candidates (at least at this point).
I don't think this (the way the process is) has any real merit or has the artist's best intentions at heart.
If it's come to the point where Kaho, one of our best artists, has basically given you an ultimatum out of a worry that he's being neglected or underappriciated, then something is wrong. And I have to admit, I'm starting to feel the same way.
I didn't have to go through this process at TickleTheater, and I'd like to again point out that I was the first to get a forum. All I did was ask the owner, and he was more than willing to accomidate me (which he did immediately with no cajoling from me), and he even thanked me.
I'm not saying you should have the same ideals as the staff there do, but it wouldn't hurt to be a bit more accepting of the talent you have here, especially when most of it has been here for quite some time and has and continues to give selflessly to the community.
I could see denying or ignoring a newbie artist at first, but thus far those being left out are not newbies and are established talents, each with their own unique style.
Whats the hold up? I hate to have been brought to ask that (because it makes me seem demanding and ungrateful), but it has come to that point where its no longer curious as to why.
This is only as big a deal as it has become because of the TIME that has expired since the original inquiries made on the part of the artists.

I second that. If someone wants to have their own archive, I don't see why they shouldn't be able to. I mean I'm not as consistent as others, but I still do what I can, the same with Khali and Kahoshiden. I feel that we deserve artwork archives just as well.
While I can understand the logic behind popularity, it can easily cause things to get ugly. Not saying that they will, but it's happened in the past in other situations.

Yes. People need to stop focusing on the negative and the past and start minding the present more. And, it is the Christmas season, which is known as a season of giving. If for no other reason, he could give us our respective forums as a Christmas present! :D
The timing couldn't be more perfect. :D
HO HO HO! :p LOL

Kahoshiden now has an archive. Was in the evaluation phase and It dropped off my plate accidently. My bad, I got distracted by some other incidents when these requests first came up. That's been corrected. Tyler's been contacted by me for some followup. Archive pending.

I replied to you Myriads, and I'm going to find a way to send you my work, since the site where I posted it crashed and I lost all my data. I have it backed up on my PC though.

If it's a nomination process... then I'd like to officially nominate FTKL as being deserving of an artist's archives, based both on the quality and quantity of his work... plus he's a pretty cool guy to boot.

My support may not carry much weight, but I'd sure like to see a FTKL archive.

I am requesting my own archive based on the quantity and quality of my past work here....and the fact that no one else has seen fit to nominate me (sigh...). Thank you for your consideration.
