View Full Version : Pedicures for men?

Kindly help me out here.
When we go on vacation down south around Christmastime, my wife wants us to go together for some sort of peppermint spa pedicure, which was a surprising request from her. While the thought of such a thing is rather intriguing, I have a couple of reservations. First of all, I'd feel a little funny if I were the only guy doing this (talk about your Governor Ahnold "girlyman"!! ). Secondly of course, I'm extremely ticklish on my feet and it will tickle like crazy if they do that exfoliation stuff which might be great fun, but I think I'd be more than a little embarrassed in that environment. Plus I doubt I could hold my feet still for that! On the other hand it's a great excuse to try it. And it would be an interesting story.
Or I could do the manly thing and go clobber golf balls at the driving range while my wife gets pedicured.
What do you think? Do real men go for pedicures?

Do real men go for pedicures?

Real men do whatever they want! I have seen, on occasion, men getting pedicures while I am. And one of them was a young guy, maybe 20 or so, in gansta clothes. Not sure what was up with that.

If you are on vacation, do it. You most likely will never see these people again (if you are at you vacation spot), so don't be concerned with clearing the place with your laugher. Just focus on your wife, and try to get her into a giggling frenzy.

Hey Unit!

I live in NYC and I see businessmen and young urban males getting pedicures all the time. I always look in the window when I pass nails places (they're on every couple of blocks), twice I've seen girls laughing hysterically with ticklish reactions so I always make it a point! I don't think you have to feel weird about it. I mean, most guys feet are probably pretty gross and untended anyway, so a pedicure may actually be HEALTHY for you.........and then on top of that, you're going to really enjoy yourself even more because of....you know...."the thing", hahaha, the thing, the reason why we're all here, on the TMF, hahaha. (sometimes i don't like to say "the word", haha)

You should do it. Everyone should take care of their feet! Oh and by the way...it does tickle like hell  It's a good tickle though...hee hee!

I have big guy feet with long, almost prehensile toes. The worst part is my big-toes, tho'. They both got crushed by heavy objects during seperate incidents over a six month period at an old job. The nails never grew in properly, and they look really gnarly and often grow back in all ingrown. I live in Florida, but am often hesitant to wear my flip-flops or go barefoot because of this.

A good friend gets pedicures from what he terms the tiny Vietnamese women and has been trying to get me to plan a visit. He says they will make the nails look presentable.

I can't imagine forking over $20 for something like this, but the way he goes on about it...

Maybe I'll turn metrosexual or something. :smilestar

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with a man getting a pedicure.
In all actuality, it will make a woman more attracted to the man knowing that the man takes care of himself and his feet. Get a manicure too while you are at it. Women will find this very sexy seeing that a man will go and take care of himself in this respect.
There is nothing to be embarassed about. The manicurist and pedicurist see this all the time and know that it "tickles".
Grin laugh and bear(bare) it my friend.

Oh God honey~amen! :evilha:

Seriously though, for all the work we girls go to keeping ours pretty for THEM, it's nice to see the favor returned.

BTW~if I can make a recommendation? Do your homework beforehand...lots of your better spas have discreet, individual rooms just for pedicures, bikini waxes, etc...
XOXO

all that he said!!!! it is wonderful when men groom themselves, I find nothing more attractive in a man, men don't like ungroomed women, why wouldn't we feel the same?

I get pedicures whenever possible! A lady taught me how to give 'em, too! There's nothing like sitting in the salon and feeling the gentle touch of the pedicurist's hands working on my sensitive soles and ticklish toes. This gives me the opportunity to tell the pedicurist that I like giving foot massages, too. I've done trades with a few of those ladies. I've received compliments on my feet from ladyfriends. One even said, "You've got girl feet!" because my feet look so nice. So I say, "Guys, go for it!" You'd be surprised at how many women sneak peaks at men's nicely pedicured tootsies! (Believe me, I've caught a few in the act!)

...and I held doing the "girly" thing at arm's length for a long time, too. But years ago, on the eve of going to my very first Gathering, there was NO WAY that I was gonna subject people to seeing my big ol' callousy man feet, so I went in and had my first pedicure. And I've never looked back! First of all, it's soooooooooooooooo luxurious, to have someone else doing all that work for you, plus I find that it feels REALLY good to boot! But then, I'm not all that ticklish, either, so I can see where the torture of that would be distracting. But yes, there are plenty of men who get them, too... hell, every year before NEST, it's turned into a sort of tradition that QBWEAVER and I go down to this place we discovered in Philly, and get them done together! So by all means, take the plunge! I bet it'd mean a lot to your lady if you did, too. I'm willing to bet that you won't regret it!

Actually now that I think about it, I get myself a "pedicure." For somereason I have callouses ( I think that is the spelling) that always occur on the outside of my big toe, and can become quite painful sometimes. I use a pumis stone to help out, this as opposed to using a nail cliper and clipping the skin off. Sorry if that was too much info.

I have not thought of the idea about getting a pedicure.. but it seems interesting enough to try now after reading this thread.

I agree with this 1,000%. It's no less masculine to get a perdicure and manicure. I, for one, get one from time to time. In addition, yes, it does ticlke like hell.

What the heck. I'm gonna go all out and get an anal bleaching (http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/lax/70809437.html) .

My feet are far to ticklish to have a pedicure..:scared: I'd rather watch the girls being tickled silly :evilha:

HA! :D Anal bleaching and a Brazilian. Yep, that would make a pedicure seem like watching football at a pub.

My main concern would be getting a Woodrow during the pedi, though.

Guys need to get over the stigma that pedicures are just for women. I took a very manly hetero male friend of mine to get a pedicure with me, and he ended up getting a manicure too! He goes all the time now, and I really appreciate it because it just looks so, smells, feels so much better to give foot love to a man who's got sweet feet. Guys, do it, and you won't regeret it!
