"Now, despite all the rhetoric and the demonization and the stirring of raw emotions, the mastermind of this terrible deed has never been caught. There was a good opportunity or two, but we kind of let him go. After all, it serves the Bush Administration much better if said mastermind is at large; the attentive eyes of the American people could focus on him and the potential dangers and horrors, rather than on the various and sundry gargantuan messes that said Administration have gotten us involved in. Of course, they don't WANT you to know that they uh...slipped up in the quest to capture Osama, but, here it is, he's still on the loose, making threats, and at the most convenient times. I suspect we'll hear from Osama again soon, when Bush's poll numbers continue to sink lower. I wouldn't quite say 'Titanic' yet, but it would seem that the sea water's coming in faster than the pumps can move out. Hey, Osama! We're waiting to hear from ya! Fox is too, they can't wait for Al-Jazeera's feed."

Thanks for the compliments, Cabana Boy.
I have a feeling that one day, down the road, this period in our history will be yet another one that makes cooler heads, and saner ones as well, cringe to the core. Just like the early '50s.

In my heart, I have this earnest wish that, in the end, Bush lives out the rest of his life as did James Buchanan, and Herbert Hoover...utterly forgotten and discredited. He really deserves no less. I don't think it will work out that way, though.

Meh. I doubt the Government lets him go to keep focus off of themselves. Mainly because Osama hardly draws any focus nowadays. People stopped caring about him. I know we all don't like him and would love to seem him brought to justice, but he's no longer a topic of conversation. He's a lingering thought on barely anyone's mind now.
