The Good Guys embarked on their next road trip to New York, Atlanta, and Houston. After sweeping three games in New York, they lost two of three in both Atlanta, and Houston. They returned home on a Sunday night, to begin a nine game homestand with the mid America teams.
During Mitch's road trip, Naomi had an issue surface. Usually, during the times Mitch was away, Naomi would spend her days shopping, gambling, or doing charity work with the wives and girlfriends of the male baseball players. Charlize Theron took her turn on Wednesday night, and pitched extremely well, allowing one run into the eighth, in a 4-1 victory to complete the sweep.
Thursday was an off day. The team held a short practice, and then relaxed for the balance of the day at the mall, and the casino.
The Cubs came to town on Friday night. Neve Campbell began the series with a poor game, and a loss, in a 5-2 setback. The fifth starter pitched on Saturday night, and he didnt do any better, allowing five runs in five innings, in a 7-3 defeat. Kate Hudson took the mound on a sunny Sunday in front of a sellout to try and right the ship. She was brilliant, striking out 11 in eight innings, and getting help from Amanda Bynes, in a 3-0 combined shutout.
St Louis invaded Paradise for the final series of the homestand. Gil Bellows started things on Monday night, and did fine, fanning ten in eight innings, in a 4-2 win. Charlize Theron pitched a great ballgame on Tuesday night, but two costly Good Guy errors, and poor ninth inning relief work, handed the Paradise Islanders a 4-3 setback Neve Campbell took the mound on Wednesday afternoon, before a sellout, in the homestand's final game,before the Good Guys would hit the road again. She was magnificent, striking out 12 in eight innings, and combining with Bynes, in a 6-2 Good Guy triumph that completed a six and three homestand. It had been a tough homestand, but the team had come out acceptably, record wise.
In the meantime, to be supportive to Naomi, and to show the rest of the team, or in the case of the men on the team, their female significant others, that Mitch loved his wife, and he didnt care what they thought of him, or his tickling preferences, Mitch agreed to be one of the featured lees at that Saturday nights tickle party.
