Today I saw "Walk The Line". I dont know how many forum members have seen it, but I highly recommend it as a truly great film. Joaquin Phoenix was amazing as the "Man In Black", Johnny Cash, and Resse Witherspoon was wonderful as June Carter Cash. What made the movie so amazing for me in addition to the great story, was the fact that both Reese, and Phoenix, who are not singers, did their own singing in the film. I think both deserve the Oscar, and the movie may deserve Best Picture, depending on what is released between now and the end of the year. I thought it was a brilliantly done film!

Want to see it, I'm a HUGE Johnny Cash fan! Wish the film covered more than just his early, formative years.

I can't say I'm all that familiar with the late Johnny Cash or his music (country just doesn't do it for me). But I understand why he's such a legend, and I've heard good things about the movie. I might see Walk the Line on DVD when it comes out, as I don't usually go to the theater to see films. I'm sure Joaquin Phoenix does a great job portraying Johnny, but I'm more interested in watching Reese Witherspoon play June Carter Cash. "Baby, baby, baby!" :D
Thanks, Mitch! I'm looking forward to seeing it. Glad to hear it's as good as it looks.

Did you notice when "Johnny Cash," asked "June Carter," to come and sing with him, and she said she couldnt because she was wearing slippers. you get to see her feet.( Reese Witherspoon's feet) :smilestar

You see her feet when they are all driving together and she is sleeping with her feet up by Johnny Cash's face, and he stares at them for a little. Nice sole shots, i all of sudden paid attention to the movie from then on out.
