Mike Vanderjadt (The Colts kicker that REALLY missed the kick needed to tie the Steelers in Sundays game) Tried to commit suicide by hanging today.
He is ok though ... He missed the stool when he tried to kick it from underneath himself.

Peyton Manning is good for stats thats it. Dont put him in Dan Marinos league because A. Marino won an AFC Championship so at least he WENT to the Super Bowl and B. Manning has a football team that Marino could have won 4 Super Bowls with with Edgejerrin James and Dwight Freeney. Manning has no heart its as simple as that. Damn I mean the Steelers were practically begging the Colts to win the game time after time but Manning couldnt captilize. Elway or Marino would have only needed one opening to win the game and they would have led their team crashing through. Cmon, doesnt this loss taint Peyton Manning even just a little (I think a lot personally). :whip:

Analogous jokes were told about Bill Buckner after the 1986 World Series, such as, he tried to commit suicide by jumping in front of a train, but the train went right through his legs. :p

Don't blame the kicker for a game in which the mighty offense didn't produce. If Peyton and the Colt offense was so great and explosive and everyone would have passed them the super bowl trophy like everyone thought.. the game never would have been decided by a simple kicker. If anyone should 'hang themself' it should be Peyton for not only blowing a 'show up and win' game, but then blaming his offensive line for the loss instead of owning up to it like a man.

I knew hed miss when they posted his stats on the season that he never missed a field goal. Same thing happend to Gary Anderson of the Vikings in 98. Screen stats are the ultimate jinx!! :cool2:

I told the Bill Buckner joke a different way: Pedro Martinez left some World Series tickets for Billy Bucks at Fenway Park but Buckner couldn't pick them up! (Rim shot, please.)

Perhaps this should be put forth in it's own thread, but did ever bother anyone that Bill Buckner, after a excellent career, was more or less labeled the ultimate goat in a game in which he was undeserving of the title altogether? If Buckner makes that play, the Red Sox are out of the inning. They would still be demoralized after giving up those runs. And they had every opportunity to win game 7, anyway, in which they went up, like, 3-0. What about the wild pitch that scored the tying run? Or all those hits for that matter? Bob Stanley must wake up everyday, thankful that he was never fully 'implicated' due to Buckner's error. And Calvin Shiraldi gave up three straight singles to load the bases. Furthermore, Rich Gedman commited two errors earlier in the game and the Mets shouldn't have been able to tie the game on Gary Carter's sacrifice in the eighth. At any rate, I'm not a Red Sox fan or a Buckner fan. Just always thought the label was completely unfair.

True. True. The Red Sox did not lose on Buckner's gaff. Well said Mica.
And if V Jack would've hit the field goal it's only a tie, they might have still lost in OT; unlike Not Score-wood (1991) or Eddie Murray (1983)

That was great LMAO :bowing:
Personally, and this is just my two cents as an uprooted Hoosier who still roots for any team from his beloved home state, the point isn't that "well, Peyton didn't have an a game" or "the offense couldnt find a rythym" or anything like that (All of which are true, and most of which can be blamed partly on rust and MOSTLY on Pittsburgh smashing the colts in the face on every play - - If you want to know what trying to make a pass while staring up into the sky flat on your back is like, ask Peyton Manning......or Britney Spears come to think of it :dogpile: )
To me, it's the fact that Vanderjagt could and should have made that kick. He's run his mouth before about other Colts players, and if your almost close enough to THROW the stupid ball through the goal posts, you damn well better be able to kick it through. Whether it was a pivotal play or not, he should have made that kick.
At any rate lol  , that was quite funny.

Don't blame Vanderjagt or Manning.
The Steelers played way better than November and the Colts played like they were rusty - which they were.

Why does everyone act like its the end of the line for Manning. He's what? Twenty-eight? He still has many years to win the Superbowl
