For those of you not into M/M tickling, this one isn't for you. I saw a movie right before Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. day entitled "King". It was pretty old, made in 1978 I think. Anyhoo, in the last ten minutes of the movie, there is a scene between the Martin Luther King character and one of his friends/co-workers. I thought it was adorable. It had a very father/son feel to it even though the two guys were about the same age. I guess Dr. King's positon of authority gave him that "father" feel. At least I thought so.

The friend comes into Dr. King's hotel room and calls out "Martin?" But there is no reply. After a few seconds of him looking around the room, Dr. King and a few other guys who he travelled with all jump out and scare the hell out of him. Dr. King playfully scolds his friend for going out and not telling him where he was going and not calling the hotel to say when he'd be back. Dr. King wrestles the friend onto the hotel bed all the while saying things like "was your finger broke or something? You couldn't call? Huh?" and the friend at first is trying to explain himself, and thinks that Dr. King is actually mad at him, but then Dr. King starts to tickle him around the ribs and underarms. His friend keeps saying "Don't tickle me Martin!" The other guys join in after a few seconds. There is a lot of laughing and eventually it all dissolves into a big pillow fight. No exaggeration, the scene goes on for about a minute, which in mainstream terms, is pretty damn long. Unfortunatley, that good-natured scene is shortly followed by Dr. King being shot. Talk about your emotional rollercoasters!!

I actually posted an account a few years back about that very thing. I believe it was the Rev Jesse Jackson who tells the story that they were tickling MLK shortly before the horrible shooting.
