The Good Guys left on their next road trip, this time to Washington, Philadelphia, and Cincinnati. After the trip started well in Washington, by winning two of three, the team went to Philadelphia, and played very poorly, getting swept three games there, by blowing late inning leads in all three. Finally, they went to Cincinnati, where the ship was righted, and they won two of three. They returned home on a Sunday night, to begin a nine game homestand against the Mets, Braves, and Astros.
When Mitch returned home on Sunday night, his knees were still a bit sore. Yet, he steadfastly refused to remove himself from the lineup, saying he would be in there, unless surgery was needed.
The team gathered at the ballpark to play the Mets on Monday night. The Mets and Good Guys had no love lost between them, and the proceedings immediately got interesting in the bottom of the first inning, when, after one was out, and one was on, Mets starter Pedro Martinez drilled Mitch with a pitch in the knee. The 95 mile per hour fastball caused agony for the Good Guy right fielder, who knew the pitch was a dirty one with a purpose. In the second inning, as the Mets to bat, Martinez batted, and Kate Hudson returned the favor with a 98 mph fastball in Pedro's back. Both benches emptied, and the participants were warned, but not ejected, as the umps gave a bit of leeway for the sellout crowd who paid their money to see Hudson Vs Martinez. The Good Guys had the last laugh, when, in the bottom of the ninth of a 2-2 tie, Mitch took Mets ace closer Billy Wagner downtown, for a 3-2 victory.
Things didn't get any better on Tuesday night, when, in the first inning again, Mets starter Tom Glavine threw a pitch behind Mitch's back. This time, the umps, fed up with the extra cirricular activities, gave no warning, and Glavine was immediately ejected. The game degenerated into something of a farce, as both teams had ten run innings against the middle relievers, in an eventual 12-11 Good Guy win. Wednesday didn't prove to be any more kind to the Mets and Good Guys, as this time the pitching opponents were Charlize Theron against Steve Trachsel. In the first inning again, a Charlize pitch sailed toward the first batter's head, touching off a bench clearing brawl, in which both managers, and starting pitchers , were ejected. After the proceedings settled down, the Good Guys got their asses kicked, dropping the game, 8-2.
Thursday was a much needed off day. Mitch spent the day icing his knees, and a bit at the casino, needing rest from the rigors of the schedule, emotionally, and physically.
A rejuvunated Good Guy ballclub returned to the park on Friday night, and they showed it, as starter Neve Campbell struck out ten, and Mitch hit a homer, in a 4-2 victory over the Braves. The fifth starter pitched on Saturday night, and did not fare well, allowing five runs, and dropping the game, 5-4. The sellout crowd on Sunday afternoon, a perfect day for baseball, was treated to a marquee matchup, Kate Hudson vs John Smoltz. This time, the fans were treated to a pure pitcher's classic, as both starters were at their top game best. Smoltz pitched nine shutout innings, fanning a dozen Good Guys, and Kate tossed ten shutout frames, punching out sixteen Braves. The game was not decided until the thirteenth inning, when third baseman Michael walloped a homerun into the left field bullpen, an absolute moon shot, that gave the Good Guys a 1-0 win.
Houston came to town on Monday night, for the last series of the homestand, before the Good Guys would travel on another road trip. The tired Good Guys put up a fine fight on Monday, but could not overcome, dropping the game, 4-3, behind Gil Bellows. Charlize Theron went to the mound on Tuesday night, and this time had her A game. Needing no help, she struck out ten in a complete game effort, backed by two homeruns, 4-0. Neve Campbell took the mound on a hot Wednesday afternoon, in front a sellout, before the Good Guys would head to New York the following night. She was hit hard, allowing five runs in six innings. Trailing 5-0 in the sixth, and seemingly done, the Good Guys came up big in that inning, scoring five runs, capped by a Mitch Grand Slam, to tie the game. In the eighth, tied, 5-5, third baseman Michael hit another home run, to give the Good Guys a lead they would never relinquish, in a 6-5 Paradise Island triumph that capped a six and three homestand. Once again, the team had perservered through aches and pains to overcome.
As always, the team held it's Saturday night tickle party. That night, the featured lee would be an investor in the team, the second baseman Russell's, married, and wealthy sister, Beth, a pretty petite girl of about 40. Her husband and her were visiting Paradise for the weekend, and the husband, a prankster, couldn't resist seeing his wife tickled by the professional tickle team. Beth, who was not thrilled at being the evening's featured victim, was tied hands and feet to the bed, in a bra and panties, in the middle of the fetish club. Catcher Barney began the proceedings, running his fingers on Beth's neck as she moved her head from side to side, and the giggles began:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! NOOOOO! Moving down, third baseman Michael tickled Beth on her underarms, down her sides, and in her ribs and belly, as she thrashed, and her husband stood there with a big smirk on his face:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEEHEHE! OMG WHOEVER LOVES SEEING ME LIKE THIS IS SUCH AN ASSHOLE! NOOOO! HEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Left Fielder Dawson was next, tickling Beth on her inner thighs, and knees, causing her to buck. Finally, Mitch, who had known Beth for over 25 years, as Russell was his closest friend, whom he had known since he was very young, got a life long chance to tickle Beth's feet. He attacked Beth's feet with his fingers, a feather, a vibrating electric massager, and ice, over her petite soles and toes. Beth went ballistic, wiggling her toes every which way, and squealing with hysterical laughter, begging for mercy:HHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHE! OMG NO MORE MITCH! I CANT STAND IT! I GIVE UP ALREADY! NOOOOO! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Finally, the tickle stopped, and the deshelved Beth was untied.
So, it had been a productive homestand on the field. Mitch was still battling problems with his knees, but he was gritting it out, and staying in the lineup, lest Alan have any case against him to take action. What would happen next? Stay tuned for the continuing story of the Tickle Team from Paradise Island.

The End

Good story, the knees are a problem area for a lot of people. Hopefully Mitch won't need surgery and can get back to full strength. Look forward to the next one.

HappyD

Thanks, Happy, your praise is appreciated. Yes, they are a problem for some.

As you know, stay tuned, there will be more to come soon.

Mitch

Start out with something different. Your stories are too predictable. It always starts out "They lost 2 of 3 to the Diamondbacks on the road, won 2 of 3 against the Rockies, and lost three straight to the Giants".

Okay, so why don't you give me a suggestion of how to start then? I do my stories in that fashion because I want to let the readers know what is happening to the team on the road, before they head home to engage in their play, and tickling, but if you have any suggestions on how I might start differently, I'd be happy to hear them.

Mitch

your stories are just fine with me... if someone wishes to give criticism they can at least suggest how to go about doing it better.

i hope that Mitch's knee problems disappear soon. great installment as always.

isabeau

Isabeau, I agree with you, and thank you for your praise, it is appreciated. I am just interested to know how Mr Binglebop thinks I can improve my stories.
As always, stay tuned, there will be more to come.

Mitch

Anything but that. I am just giving a suggestion. Shake it up a little bit and discuss that at the middle or end of the story maybe. Every other writer that has multiple stories DEFINITELY does not start out the same way. These are too predictable. It usually tells how the team did on the road or at home, then what is going on in Mitch's life, and then some tickling. It's alright for a short story, but it's the exact same format on every one of them. Perhaps you could leave the introduction out? I have yet to read one single story where anybody commented on how happy they are that the team won 7 or 9 games on the road. That's just a suggestion. It might be one of the reasons why there are so few views or replies on each story.

And yes, I know, stay tuned too, as there is more to come.

Okay, let me play around with it, and see what I can do.

P'S. The stay tuned is directed at isabeau and happy, my two loyal fans.

I must say that I do not agree with Binglebop on this one. These stories are a Mitch tradition and the joy of tradition is in the repition of the act. When the entries to the stories are similar it has kind of a 'welcome home' feeling to it that is nice to see. Besides, if you don't like the intro then you don't have to read it, beautiful thing about a free country isn't it. Anyway those are just thoughts and thanks Mitch, I'm always staying tuned.

HappyD

I'm sorry to say that as my loyal readers, Ms Isabeau, and Mr Darwin, are satisfied with the format of my stories, and they have been my most loyal readers for a long while, I have to go with the Democratic theory of majority rules, so, to this end, the stories stay as is.
Thank you for all the feedback.

Mitch
