Okay now that its pretty offical that 98% of the brackets are done for, lets just pick one of these four teams to win it.
I think GM will continue to shock us all and beat Florida..and UCLA will squeak by LSU. Leaving a George Mason vs. UCLA championship, and when the dust settles UCLA will win by 10, GM will have had an outstanding run but will run out of gas at the end.
What do you all think??

I'm gonna go with UCLA beating LSU, and Florida beating George Mason.

The final showdown will involve UCLA beating Florida for a record 12 wins.

Granted, these assumptions are based on rankings, which don't seem to mean much this year. I'm actually hoping that Florida wins it though.

I think George Mason will SHOCK the world!!! The fact that this has been a historic run is not withstanding. I believe that George Mason ( who I believe DID NOT deserve to go to the tournament ) thinks they can win. Beating UConn proves that they believe it. Facts are that George Mason could have said ' hey we had a great run' when they were down 9 at the half. They came out smoking. When UConn tied it at the end of regulation they could have crumbled. They came out and hit 5 of 6 from the field. This team has shown they can take another teams best punches and still get off the deck. They are showing character and heart that you need to win this. No disrespect intended to Florida or LSU or UCLA. And by goodness I could be completely wrong. We will have to see starting Saturday. Go George Mason!!! :rotate:

The GM/UConn game was one of the best games I've seen in awhile. When UConn got the tying basket off a rebound in the last 5 seconds, I thought to myself "Well, Mason had a good run, but this is where the real teams pull it out." Boy, was I wrong, and happily so.

Can George Mason win it all? I don't know...but I am going to be pulling for them every step of the way. I would love to see these big-money schools looking up at tiny little GM. These kids have heart like you wouldn't believe and actually think they can take it all. Florida will be tough, but not unbeatable. Nobody's unbeatable.

I gotta go with the little guy here. :triangle:

George Mason is my sentimental pick. Id like to see them win, but I just dont think they can hold that intensity anymore. I really think UCLA is gonna take it, but if GM does, I wouldnt be suprized or upset by it. It would be a great story.

I realize I'm late with a post on this thread, because the championship game was last night... but I am a proud alumnus of the University of Florida. :) I'm a member of the Class of 1997.

(It was at UF, by the way, that I found a.s.f.t and a.m.t, and all the webpages. It was at UF where I felt like I wasn't the only one.)

I love underdogs, though, and if my beloved Gators weren't in the Final Four, I'd cheering on George Mason to win the whole thing.

I wasn't completely sure that the hard-workin' Men in Orange and Blue (tm) could beat the Patriots, but I was relatively confident.

On Monday morning, I mentioned to a few people that I didn't think the Gators could beat UCLA; their defense was just too tough.

(I'll admit, of course, that I said that for one reason: that after the game, I would be either right [UCLA wins] or pleasantly surprised [Florida wins].)

I was not only pleasantly surprised... I was shocked that the Gators led by as much as twenty in the second half!

So, my beloved alma mater are the national champions.

Woo hoo! :)

I feel like singing "We Are The Boys!" (It's kinda like a second alma mater for the school... it was written when UF was all-male and FSU was known as the Florida State College for Women.) It's sung at the Swamp (football) and the O'Connell Center (basketball) with everyone in the stands, arm-in-arm, swaying back and forth. It's really fun. :)
