The celebration rule is BS. The NFL never wants it's players to have fun. I hate the fact that they took the opinions of a few players who felt celebrations had got out of hand and decided that meant something. They should have got opinions from many more NFL players and the fans too. They perform for us, we buy their merchandise and watch their product. The least tehy could do is get opinions of the people who watch week in and week out. The celebration week-to-week were one of the best parts of the game and now its taken away. I think there will still be creative celebrations and some will even take the fine to do a certain celebration.

FIFA did the same with soccer; if after a goal the celebration got out of hand the player received a automatic yellow card in which could lead to a red card or even a suspension, but players still found ways around it.

To the extent players just doing it and taking the fine is a touch extreme, for sure some will come up with new ways to entertain the crowd but they like their pay checks to. What I dont get instead of looking at pass interference calls and making them more in touch with the game; now a defensive back only has to look at a reciever the wrong way and he gets flagged , they make a rule that doesn't make sense. Really its effecting only 3 or 4 players; Steve Smith, Chad Johnson, T.O and maybe Randy Moss (but he has no time to celebrate he sees the scoreboard and thinks damn) yet their are still rules taking the contact out of a contact sport which is turning around games all around the NFL.

Personally I really cant wait for Chad Johnson to score his first TD next year, I'm sure it will be smart something sly to make people laugh at the NFL rule.

The no GROUP celebration rule started in 2000 when the Rams was doing the bob and weave after every touchdown. Since they was doing about 8 times a game the coaches was getting pissed. But when the Rams was getting their ass kick for 10 years straight and people did ever dance imaginable no one thought twice about it.

NFL stands for NO FUN LEAGUE

Actually I do think the celebrating was getting out of hand!!!! BUT!!! I think making a rule that penalizes a team is wrong for a few reasons:

1 When is it TOO much? That's leaving a lot of subjectiveness to the offcials isn't it?

2 Why 15 yards???

3 Why can't they just say "tone it down"?

i think the new rules against touchdown celebrations are crap. last year had some of the most entertaining end zone celebrations of all time. i mean, who can forget Chad Johnson's "River Dance", "Tiger Woods", "CPR" and Steve Smith's "Row the boat", "Swashbuckler" and "Change the diaper". those were classic celebrations. even though i dont like him now, Terrell Owens celebrations are absolutely hysterical. like "Sharpie", "Pom poms with 49er cheerleaders" and even his "Ray Lewis" impersonation was funny. now with these new rules, it will cut back on our entertainment value.

damn No Fun League....

Also I meant the broadcast rules too. Has anyone else heard what they plan to do. I may be wrong but the story I got goes like this:

The NFL is going to hire it's OWN people to broadcast games. I mean like everyone!! Their own camera people, their own sideline photographers, and their own correspondents!!

If the networks want to air it, they have to buy it from the NFL. It's the end of football as we know it!!! :cry1:
