in the early seventies a plane went down, trying to land at tri-city airport in huntington , wv, killing most of the members of the marshall football team and many alumni. Hollywood is here this week shooting a movie, reenacting that tragic event. the main actor is Matthew McCaunehy or however you spell it plus others. and they will use present football team members as extras. i know quite a few friends who were personally affected by that tragedy, one of my friends having lost both his parents. it will be interesting to see how they produce this horrifying past in huntington's history.

ps there were no survivors. but not all the members rode back on the plane.

I think its very sad! I hope the movie helps people who lost friends and family rather then hurt them!

I remember this tragedy in the news, and I remember thinking how ghastly it was. It happened when I was in college.

I didn't even know about that crash. I think it's good somebody is documenting it.

thank you featherfingers for that article.. i wish they werent calling the movie "we are marshall" i know it symbolizes the strength involved to carry on in the face of such a disaster, but i have to hear that slogan all the time and it bugs me lol..
