So I'm doing some research on stuff unrelated to tickling (yes, I have interests outside of tickling!) and I come across half a dozen Dear Abby and Ann Landers article on how bad tickling is. Plus a report of a tickling ghost in England! LOL!

So I says to myself, why not post them for the good folks a the TMF to see?

Near as I can tell, all of those letters to Ann seem to refer to situations in which someone who doesn't like to be tickled is being tickled non-consensually. We might have a few harsh things to say about such things around here too.

I wouldn't go that far, but she seems like a pretty conservative person, and these articles all seem to be from the late 60s to early 70s. To say that she doesn't "get it," and that her average reader probably doesn't either, would be an understatement. I chalk up her disgust to that, though her advice is generally correct, given that all the examples are non-consentual and cause great stress to the lees.

On the other hand, the gentleman who wrote in regarding his torture at the hands of his frat brothers (the second posting, I think) should calm down. I certainly don't condone torture in any form, but we're talking about a fraternity initiation -- if he only threw up, he got off pretty easy. I hope they didn't let him in after that.
