The Good Guys embarked on their next trip to the West Coast, while they went four and five on the trip, not a bad showing, Kate Hudson got hammered in two starts on the road trip. The team was becoming quite concerned, and, on Sunday night, when they returned to Paradise, sent Kate to the hospital for X Rays and an MRI, to check if there was something wrong with her arm. The Xrays came back negative the next morning, and Kate was cleared to start the following night against Washington.
The Good Guys began the homestand on a Monday night. Sniderman, being the trusting manager he was, gave the ball to Kate Hudson as scheduled, and hoped for the best. For the first three innings, she was pitching better, having given up only two runs on a couple of hits, and trailing 2-1. In the fourth, however, the roof caved in again. Kate gave up hits and walks, and the bases were loaded twice. Then, she became only one of a handful of pitchers, to give up two grand slam homeruns in one inning, and by the time she left, to a round of boos, the Good Guys trailed 12 -1, and everyone was now truly concerned about their ace. Team doctors and Kate answered questions in the postgame interviews, with Kate having no explanation for her sudden decline.
The next night, things were better. With the bullpen in disarray, Gil Bellows gave the Good Guys exactly what they needed, nine innings, allowing only one run, in a 4-1 win. The next night, the good times continued, as Charlize Theron allowed but two runs into the eighth, combining with Amanda Bynes, and Hilary Duff, on a 5-2 victory.
Thursday was an off day. The team met up at the casino, with a sullen and somber Kate Hudson in attendance. Everyone was mystified at what had happened to their one time ace.
The Phillies came to town on Friday night. After Neve Campbell pitched well, leaving with a 3-1 lead, the bullpen coughed it up in the ninth, in an eventual 5-4 loss. The fifth starter really wanted to turn in a good game on Saturday, especially with Kate's ongoing troubles, and he did, allowing but two runs into the seventh, as Mitch hit an eighth inning homer, in a 4-3 triumph. Sunday dawned bright and sunny. A sellout crowd showed up, but, they were not kind to Kate Hudson, who at that point had lost five games in a row, as they booed her soundly as she took the mound. Kate didn't do anything to win back the fans confidence that day, giving up a three run homer, a two run shot, and a long solo blast, as she departed having given up seven runs in less than four innings, en route to an 8-3 loss. In the next morning's newspaper, the sports section had a large picture of Kate, her head down, walking off the mound, after her sixth loss in a row, and fourth at home. There was talk of making Kate a middle reliever, as the team simply could not keep affording to give away her starts every five days.
The Reds entered Paradise on Monday night. Gil Bellows, at that point the team's best pitcher, didn't disappoint, as he allowed but two runs into the eighth, in a 6-2 win. Charlize Theron went to the hill on Tuesday night, and she, too , fared fine, giving up three runs in six innings, on the way to a 6-3 triumph. Neve Campbell went to the mound on a hot, hazy Wednesday in the homestand's last game, before a nine game road trip. The ball was jumping that day, as the game was tied, 5-5 after five. After the Good Guys fell behind in the seventh, they rallied in the eighth, and hung on, for a 7-6 Paradise win, saved by Duff, to complete the sweep of the Reds, and finish off a six and three homestand. Once again, the team had to fight hard to gain their wins, especially with their ace being lit up every time out. Things were far from rosy, but as always, the never say Good Guys pressed on.
In the meantime, the team held it's Saturday night tickle party. The featured lee, in town to promote a new movie she had just released, would be beautiful Kristin Davis, star of Sex and the City, and Melrose Place. With lines of hungry guys waiting to tickle her, Kristin was tied hands and feet to the bed in the middle of the fetish club. Second baseman Russell began the tickle on Kristin's neck with fingers, as the giggles began, and her head shifted from side to side:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! NO! Moving down, third baseman Michael was next, running his fingers in spider like motions under Kristin's arms, and down her sides, ribs, and across her belly, as the squeals continued:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! OMG TICKLISH NOOOO! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Catcher Barney followed, tickling Kristin's hips, and inner thighs, as well as behind her knees, causing her to jerk her legs. Finally, Mitch was last, tickling his favorite spot, the soles of Kristin's hyper sensitive bare feet. He attacked Kristin's feet with fingers, a feather, ice, and a vibrating electric massager all over her soles and toes. Kristin went beserk, she wiggled her toes every which way, and squealed with hysterical laughter:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! OMG PLEASE NO MORE! I GIVE UP ALREADY NO! PLEASE NO MORE TICKLING! NOOOO! HEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Finally, the tickle stopped, and the deshelved Kristin was untied.
On Wednesday night, before the team left for Washington, Mitch and Naomi discussed the status of the team:" It's good that we salvaged a decent homestand, and that we're getting along okay, but poor Kate, six losses in a row, for our ace. She insists there's nothing wrong with her, but why has she been getting lit up every time out? These games when she's pitching aren't even close" Naomi said. "I dont know, maybe she's hiding something, or maybe it's psychological, one bad game leads to the next leads to the next. We've had that as a team, a pitcher can have that too. Hopefully, she can right the ship, because we need her, badly" Mitch said.
So, as the team headed for the nation's capital to play the Nationals, their record wasn't bad, but everyone was very concerned about their pitching ace Kate Hudson. Would she be able to right the ship? What would happen next? Stay tuned for the continuing story of the Tickle Team from Paradise Island.

The End

Great story, too bad about Kate's ongoing difficulties. She's got good friends around her though to help brighten her spirits. I look forward to the next installment.

Thank you, happy, your praise is appreciated as always. As you know, stay tuned, there will be more to come soon.
