If so what are your thoughts? I'm thinking of catching a movie tomorow afternoon and have narrowed it down to these two.

Go see Silent Hill. I saw it tonight. If you have beaten the games, it's a no brainer. The movie is loyal to the games, and the movie is full of tension and GORE. Seriously, prepare fore GORE. Creepy, thought-provoking and full of great atmosphere, this movie will feed your bloodlust!

Check it out! PYRAMID HEAD, from Silent Hill 2, the "executioner" ..He is in the film, and he is ruthless!

I don't play useless video games like Silent Hill, Metal Gear, or Wolfenstein. That sort of stuff is for toy soldiers who are afraid of real combat.

On the other hand I do like a damn scary movie!

Thanks!!

Well, even if you don't play the games, STILL! Go see this movie! Keep an open mind, and relish in the SLAUGHTER!

Yes I do know it doesn't matter if I play the games. I'm just in the mood to jump!

I know the feeling man, I'm sitting here listening to death metal, and I feel like smashing everything!!

Seriously though, Sh will feed your need for destruction. Especially the end. I've never seen such killing on screen at once before.

Dark, Murderous, and always chilling, "Silent Hill" is the movie to see!

This comment is so flawed, i can only assume you are being sarcastic, or joking around.

That asside, i plan on seeing the movie tommorow, and look forward to it.

Have you ever been in combat?

Cosmo_ac

No, though i'm curious how that in any way has anything to do with enjoying a video game.

Simple, if you've ever ben in combat, shot at, and wounded you tend to believe these sorts of games are for toy soldiers who talk big. In fact you have a toy soldier on this very board who thought his prowess in some idiotic shoot em up video game would make him a great soldier. After 3 weeks he ended up crying his way out of the Army.

Then frankly i would suggest you get out more. One person who mistook there gaming abilities for actual combat skills in no way represents the vast majority of gamers. Most people can tell the difference between the game they are playing vs. reality.

I'll place my paycheck against yours that I've seen far more of the world than you have, so your saying I should get out more is moot.

On the other hand I've had plenty of these toy soldiers tell me they think they'd do great in combat based on their video game skills. Yeah right. Heck you have one on this board who thought he'd be a great soldier, ujntil of course he figured out soldiers get shot at for real, and there is no save game feature in real combat.

you might have traveled more of the world, but it seems you haven't seen that much.

seems you have a personal bone to grind with somebody. As stated before, most gamers know the difference between playing a game and the real thing. This person played a game, thought he might enjoy a real life in the military, then found it wasn't to his liking. Get over it.

So in other words you've never been anywhere correct?

And no, it's not just one guy, he just happens to be one of the worst offenders. The majority of these shoot em up geeks really think they'd be great soldiers. In my mind, an 18 year old kid who is playing these games thinking it makes him bad or a leader ought to be trying the real thing.

Toy soldiers is all they are, playing games that have stuff they can't comprehend and would piss their pants if they were exposed to real life.

Not quiet sure where i've been has anything in any way to do with knowing gamers.

You'll have to tell me where one can find genetically created monsters and paralel demensions.

Metal Gear, represents real combat.

But you made my point for me. These toy soldiers believe their ability to handle a fantasy game somehow carries over to them being real soldiers.

By the way, I hope no one thinks I'm knocking Canada by saying Cosmo hasn't been outside it's borders. Canada is a very nice country.

I've only played Silent Hill 4: The Room and loved the hell out of it. So I'm definitely going to see it.

And video games are entertainment, despite how seriously some people may take them they're just entertainment. Because someone is good at a NASCAR game doesn't mean they can drive, or being good at a boxing game doesn't mean they can box. So I HOPE people who play combat games don't seriously think they have anything to do with real life combat.

And besides, who in their right mind looks at possibly dying/getting a limb blown off and says "yeah dude, I wanna try that"? I mean if you have to you have to, but how much brains does someone have who thinks it would be fun?
