Here's what happens when people take online way too seriously. Dumbass internet geeks.

I laughed my ass off over this. But here's what happens when people take online WAY too seriously. There's a game called WOW or World Or Warcraft. I guess the people buy the game, pay to play it in online communities, and forms guilds or tribes. The object is to fight other tribes or guilds and earn experience points.

Here is where it gets weird. A guild has a person who dies in real life. The guild then decides in order to honor the person they'll have an online funeral for her. Another guild gets word of this, hacks into the funeral, ambushes it and kills everyone!!! LOL

Yeah, there are people who take those games way too serious. I have a friend who played one for 60 hours a week for several years. It is worse than drug addiction.

Personally, i find nothing funny about this at all. While there are those who would poke fun at something like this, there is nothing to laugh about here.

A group of people decided to have a funeral for somebody they cared about. Yes, it was online, but does this in any way cheapon it? IMO, no. Her friends gathered to say final farewells, and more then likely reminis about the past. They wouldn't be the first group to do such a thing as sometimes groups like book clubs, or sports teams have there own little wakes to remember a person who was a part of the club. The only difference is that this was online, yet because of this it's suddenly something of ridicule.

More then likely many of her friends there lived a very far distance and could not attend the real funeral. This "mock Funeral" if you will, might have been to give them some closure.

the fact that somebody would do something to disrupt such a thing, is nothing short of disgusting. The people who did such a thing are on the lowest level of human worth.

I got all the respect for the people who organised the 'mock' funeral as you put it and again in your words most probably was a way to give them closure. What I was referring to was the amount of time these people are glued to the computer screens and yes how some people would take the time and effort to break up something that has some meaning. No lives is a term that comes to mind.

I agree germen, some people do spend too much time in front of there computers. However, i guess it's a matter of personal opinion what equals "Too much time". Some people would argue more then 30 mins is too much time, some would say 4 hours, it really varies i think.
