it has be rumor that Marshall Faulk might retire from NFL at the beginning of the season do to poor health (is knees). But, it also be rumor that it was not because of his knees but because he was demoted from the #2 running back to #3 after they picked up a running back name Fisher to back up Steven Jackon.

Also if he leaves StL he might sign an one year contract with someone else to be the #2 running back.

Being a Raiders fan I still have always had respect for Faulk. I can imagine being #3 would kill a person like him as he is built on pride, as for going to another team - who would pick him up; salary and trade. It doesn't look like the Rams will release him as he is a good insurance policy; still has great hands out of the backfield.

For his knees; I know how they can be and yet I didn't get the constant pounding his has taken all over his career so I can imagine how they can would be like. I just hope that he will control what he wants to do with whats remaining of his great career.
