My phone accepts midi files as ringtones, so I wrote a few midi files with Cakewalk Pro Audio. Attached is one that I adapted from what I remembered of the outro of rather obscure tune from The Guess Who, called "Friends of Mine." I had to zip it because V-Bulliten doesn't allow uploads of .mid files.

find a mp3 or wav format of the song, using file sharing program
use your wav editor if you have xp or higher
cut out about 10 - 20 seconds of the song you wish
go to http://www.mixxer.com/
create a free account and move the file from you personal folder on http://www.mixxer.com/ to your phone. you also can do pictures

You're absolutely correct. Actually only about 15 seconds of that song plays on my cell phone, and only then if I decide not to answer. :D Yeah, Burton Cummings was a screamer at times, but I think Robert Plant cornered that market pretty well. My favorite Guess Who song is No Sugar Tonight / New Mother Nature. Unfortunately that song doesn't lend itself very well to be used as a ring tone.

I have def leppard's pour some sugar on me. It kind of sucks because I have an old school cell phone that doesn't have the real tones, so it beeps the song out, but it's cool, I don't lose sleep over it.
