The Paradise Islanders arrived in California, to find that the weather was not, in fact, all that great. While they managed to get in all three games in San Fransisco, despite a constant rain, the team dropped two of the three games. The weather got better as they visited San Diego, winning two of three there, before going to Los Angeles, and again dropping two of three. The road trip ended on a Sunday afternoon, with the Good Guys scheduled to arrive in Nassau, after a five hour flight, at 1am Monday.
During the road trip, a new issue of dominance, and clashing, developed. Mitch said, trying to be diplomatic. "I was just upset last night because of the way you treated me while you were on the trip, and then you compounded it by your attitude last night. You know that I dont mind doing things for you, or when you want to play with me, and be dominant in games, but the nastiness was uncalled for. She had a gift that night, as the South African righthander had six runs scored for her by her teammates before the second inning. With a huge lead, Charlize pitched well enough, and combined with the bullpen, to nail down the win, 6-3, to complete the sweep of the Nationals.
Thursday was an off day, and it was not a nice one. At midday, a baking, sizzling, day, turned black and ugly, as heavy storms pummeled the island, with torrential rains, vivid lightning flashes, and loud claps of thunder. The team, luckily, was inside the casino all day, busing themselves with gaming, eating and commiseration. A lost day weatherwise, was luckily not a problem, as they used said afternoon as a day of rest and relaxation, to recharge their batteries after the tough three game series with Washington.
