The Good Guys finished up the regular season strong. After a road trip to the West Coast, they came home, and won five of six on a final homestand. Their division title was secure, as they persued back to back championships.
The playoffs opened on a Tuesday afternoon in Paradise against the Phillies. Kate Hudson was on the hill, and she was magnificent, seven shutout innings, as the Good Guys scratched for two runs, and came away with a 2-0 win. Gil Bellows took his turn on Wednesday afternoon, and he, too, threw a fine game, allowing but two runs in seven innings, as the Good Guys came up with four runs, and a 4-2 win.
Up two games to none, the teams flew to Philadelphia for Game Three. Charlize Theron tried to close out the series, but couldnt, as she got bashed early, in a 9-4 Phillies victory. The Good Guys got off to a flying start in Game Four, scoring four early runs, and never looking back, as Kate Hudson pitched into the eighth inning, and was then relieved by the bullpen, as Jacinda Barrett got the final out, in a 5-2 series clinching win.
The Good Guys had three days to rest before the National League Championship Series, which opened against the Mets, on Tuesday night in Paradise. Neve Campbell would pitch Game Four, as Sniderman wanted to go with a four person rotation in the League Championship round. Neve got hit pretty hard, allowing four runs in seven innings, but, the Mets starter got hit hard as well, and, tied 4-4 in the seventh, the Good Guys struck for two runs. It was a lead the bullpen would not relinquish, in a 6-4 win, that put the Good Guys one win from the World Series. Gil Bellows took the ball for Game Five, but could not come through, as he allowed five runs in his seven innings of work, to fall, 5-3, and send the series back to Paradise.

The Yankees, on Saturday night.

Kate Hudson, of course, was the starter, against the Yankees Randy Johnson. Both pitchers were great, as Kate allowed three runs over seven innings, and Johnson two runs over seven. Racheal Ray allowed a run in the eighth, and the Good Guys scored a run in the ninth against Mariano Rivera, but could not come through, losing 4-3, as the Yankees drew first blood. Gil Bellows pitched Game Two, against Yankee starter Chin Min Wang. Wang threw very well, allowing only one run into the eighth inning. Bellows, in the meantime, was hit hard, but limited the damage to only two runs. However, against the Yankee bullpen, almost was not good enough, as, for the second straight night, the Good Guys fell short, 2-1, to put the Yankees half way to a title.

The home cooking proved to be a godsend for the Good Guys, as, with 50,000 fans staging a love in, in spite of their two game to none deficit, the Good Guys gave Charlize four runs of support, and watched the bullpen do the rest, in what turned out to be a 4-2 win, for Paradise's first win. Kate Hudson pitched Game Four, opposing Johnson again. Kate was magnificent that start, allowing but one run over seven innings, as the Good Guys got just enough, scoring two runs on a Mitch seventh inning homer, and then getting Barrett to seal the deal in the ninth, by a 2-1 score, to tie the series at two apiece. Gil Bellows would get the ball for Paradise in Game Five, against Chin Min Wang again. Wang kept the Yankees in the ballgame, allowing three runs over six innings, but, after his departure, with the Good Guys leading by two runs, the offense exploded, for five runs, to take command, in a 9-1 thrashing, to put Paradise one win from the ultimate, a win they would have to get on enemy territory.

Mariano Rivera did his thing in the ninth, and, this World Series that nobody wanted to lose, would go to a Game Seven.
Game Seven, Sunday Night, Yankee Stadium, Kate Hudson Vs Randy Johnson, all or nothing at all. Both pitchers mesmerized the hitters, as Kate pitched eight shutout innings, striking out eight, and Johnson fired nine shutout innings, striking out nine. The teams were scoreless, moving into the tenth. Rivera got the Good Guys out in the tenth. After Naomi pitched a scoreless tenth, Mitch came up in the eleventh, and gave the Good Guys the thrill of a lifetime, by blasting a solo homer into the Yankee bullpen, to give Paradise the lead. Jacinda Barrett warmed up, and trotted out of the bullpen, to try and close out Paradise's second straight World Title, this time on enemy turf. After an out, a Jacinda pitch was blasted for a double. Then, the batter moved to third on an infield hit, and came home on a sacrifice fly, as the game was tied, 1-1, and Barrett had blown the lead. Tied, 1-1, with two outs, Jacinda got two strikes on the aging, but dangerous, Bernie Williams. Then, she got a pitch that was a half inch over the middle of the plate. Just a half inch. Willams blasted it to right field, and Mitch tracked it, back to the wall, it hit his glove, and fell out, being ruled a home run, as the Yankees, after trailing in the eleventh inning, had snatched a 2-1 victory, from the jaws of defeat. The Yankees and their fans were delirious, as the stunned Good Guys stood on the Yankee Stadium field, almost unable to comprehend what had happened. They had fallen in the World Series in the past, but never like this. The Yankee PA system blared "We Are The Champions" as the utterly shocked Good Guys left the field, for their clubhouse.
As the Yankee fans rejoiced, the Good Guys clubhouse door was closed for fifteen minutes, and then, Mitch came out, to speak to the media. "This is a very, very difficult defeat, perhaps our most difficult ever. I thought we had it in the extra innings, but you have to give the Yankees credit. I congratulate Joe Torre and the Yankees, as we played another heartstopping World Series with them, and I hope to stand here next year, as a World Champion again" Mitch said. The Good Guys dressed quietly, and boarded the bus to the airport, for the flight to Nassau, which arrived at 4am, Nassau Time. When the team came into the terminal from the plane, a couple of thousand cheering fans greeted them with applause, for their magnificent season. "We thank you for coming out here at this time of morning, to show us your appreciation. We enjoyed entertaining the fans this year, and feel disappointed, as we know you all are, at the outcome of the World Series. However, we accept it bravely, and move on, and hope to thrill you with the ultimate of a championship, again next year."
In the meantime, the team held its last tickle party of the year, on Monday night, before scattering for the winter. The featured lee would be Kate Hudson's low profile new boyfriend, Owen Wilson, whom the female members of the team couldnt wait to take a shot at tickling. Owen was tied hands and feet to the bed, in his boxer shorts, in the middle of the fetish club. Naomi began the tickle on Owen's neck with fingers, as his head shifted from side to side, and the laughter began:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! NO! Moving down, Neve Campbell was next, tickling Owen on his underarms, sides, ribs, and belly with fingers, as he howled, and thrashed:HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! OMG THAT TICKLES NOOO! HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Racheal Ray then joined in, tickling Owen on his hips, inner thighs,and behind his knees with fingers, as his legs bucked, and more howls began:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Finally, Kate Hudson, who already had been a tickle victim of Owen's on various occasions in their relationship, came over to the bed with a big smirk:" This is where I get you back, honey" With that, Kate attacked Owen's feet with her fingers, a feather, ice, and an electric toothbrush over his soles and toes. Owen went beserk, he wiggled his toes every which way, and howled with laughter:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! OMG THIS IS TOO MUCH! IAM GOING TO GET YOU WHEN I GET OUT OF THIS KATE! NOOOOO! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Finally, the tickle ended, and the exhausted Owen was untied.
So, another thrilling season of Good Guy baseball had come to an end. It had been perhaps the most exhilarating, and heartbreaking, season the Good Guys had ever played. Playing with the lead in Game Seven, on enemy turf, the Good Guys could not seal the deal to secure a second straight championship. Now, came the long, lonely, winter, which would be spent feeling the effects of the heartbreaking loss, at least for a while, but, there would always be next year, next year for the Good Guys to regroup, and fight as one, to hopefully secure the title they so heartbreakingly lost. Yes, in spite of whatever heartbreak they faced, there would always be next year, for the Tickle Team From Paradise Island.
