The Good Guys embarked on their next road trip, going four and five on the trip. They dropped two of three in San Fransisco, before winning two of three in San Diego, and losing two of three in Los Angeles. They were to return home, on a Sunday night, to begin another nine game homestand.
On that Sunday night, with Mitch due home, and the family being home together more, Naomi and the couple's college age daughter, Erin, had gone food shopping, and were returning home. Somehow, two shady characters had slipped inside a back door of the high security building, and jumped Naomi and Erin as they entered the apartment. As the robbers demanded money, the women immediately complied, surrendering everything they had, including money, and jewelry. Instead of taking their haul, and running with the money, the two bandits ordered the women to strip to bras and panties, and proceed to their respective bedrooms. Fearing they were going to be sexually assaulted, Naomi tried to divert their attention:" Look, I have more jewelry in the apartment, I'll give you whatever I have, or, you can do whatever you want to me, just please leave my daughter alone" She pleaded. "Listen, we run the show here, so shut up, we are going to tie you up, and do as we please!" One of the bandits said angrily. After tying the women hands and feet to their seperate beds, Naomi in hers and Mitch's room, and Erin in her own room, the bandits went to work. The bandit with Naomi sat by her bed, not doing anything, as Naomi heard squeals and cries coming from the other room, as the other bandit was tickling Erin all over, from neck to feet, especially going to town, and working over the soles of Erin's feet. Erin was squealing hysterically, and begging for mercy, begging for it to end, through the tears:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! PLEASE I CANT STAND IT! DONT TICKLE ME! "Before we go, each of you give us one of your feet" The women meekly complied, as each of the bandits took one of the women's feet, and tickled it with their fingers. Both women struggled to keep their balance, as their toes wiggled, and their feet flexed. Finally, the bandits dropped their feet, and headed out the door, and when Naomi was sure they were gone, she called the police, and Mitch, who didnt receive the message, until he landed in Nassau, at midnight. He hurried to his apartment, where he found the police, and his wife and daughter, shaken:" Hello, Mister Tickle Bandit is my top fantasy, so I have to act it out with my wife!" I'm mortified that this happened to both of you, and I thank God neither of you got hurt, but please tell me how you feel this is my fault" Mitch said. "It isnt your fault that we were mugged. That night, neither Erin or Naomi could sleep, and the next morning, when Lee Sniderman called to ask Naomi if she needed time off, she told him no, and that she intended to pitch that night, against Washington, if needed, and that she just wanted to go on with her life.
On Monday night, Mitch and Naomi arrived at the ballpark, for the game with Washington, where they were warmly greeted by their teammates. "I am okay. I thank heaven we weren't raped, like I had been, that time years ago, when Mitch and I first got married, and I was mugged. After Bellows went six strong innings, Naomi entered in the seventh, to a standing ovation, and got the Nationals out, after which the rest of the bullpen did their jobs, in a 5-3 victory. Charlize Theron took the ball on Wednesday night, and she pitched a credible game, but, the Good Guys could not get any runs that night, and fell, 3-0.
Thursday was an off day, After counesling, and Naomi expressing to the doctor about her ordeal, the couple gambled at the casino with the team, as the bandits who had attacked Erin and Naomi, still had not been caught.
The Phillies came to town on Friday night. Neve Campbell was on the mound, and got hit hard, as the Good Guys could not rally, and succumbed, 5-4, for their second straight defeat. The team decided not to have a tickle party that Saturday, due to Naomi's experience. The team was not in a good mood that night, and it showed, as Rachel Leigh Cook got bombed, 7-0, in front of a booing crowd. The team needed a good effort from Kate Hudson on Sunday, and got one, as she struck out thirteen Phillies, and allowed only two hits, as the Good Guys hit five solo home runs, and got nothing else, in a 5-0 whitewashing, to avoid the sweep.
The Reds invaded Paradise on Monday, in the homestand's last series, before the Good Guys would go away again. Gil Bellows took the ball on Monday night, and threw an excellent game, but the team did not hit, and lost, 1-0, for their third loss in four games. Now, the Good Guys sorely wanted to win the final two games, to salvage a winning homestand.
