The year is 2106; the world’s major governments have fallen in warfare long ago. The only current power system goes under the simple name “The State” and controls the remaining outpost across the earth that still holds human life. They rule with an iron fist and annihilate all opposition, using threats, murder and torture. While oldfashioned torture is still used in some parts of the world, the discovery of “Varcon” an artificial drug that heightens the senses to extreme levels have made tickling an extremely effective method, used by The State in many cases when you can’t risk the life of a prisoner.
In response to The States vicious methods a resistance group has formed, “The Opposition of The State and eternal tyranny”, or simply “The Resistance”. Their actions are as brutal and questionable as The States, but they motivate it with their purpose of freedom. They also use Varcon whenever they can get their hands on it.
Some cities live in peace, just trying to survive. One such is New Falcon City, a small city close to the Pacific. It’s been outside the influence of The State and The Resistance, until now…

Anne woke up as the sunlight hit her eyes. She sat up slowly and made a promise to buy some curtains later today, and then she stood up and got some jeans on, then a white tank-top. She combed her hair in front of the broken mirror in the filthy bathroom, then she jumped into her sandals and went out in the heat. She didn’t get the heat wave, it had never been this bad, but then again, the whole weather cycle had been wrecked by The War, nothing was predictable anymore. She turned a corner and went into a door at a big brown building made of brick, much like everything else. A sign, filled with graffiti and dusting with age said “Post Office”.
She sighed, this was going to be a long day.

Caitlin was hanging out by the bar, trying to see if James was going to show up soon, it would just be typical of him to be late. She saw the bartender eyeing her, soaking up each part of her slim, petite body through her leather suit, and she didn’t care the least. She had more important things to worry about. For a moment she thought she spotted James, but she soon realized she was wrong.
She was getting worried, he should be here now. A guy with a surprisingly stupid smile walked up to her and tried starting a conversation, but she didn’t even try to blow him off, she didn’t even answer. He got pissed and tried making a joke to the bartender about it, and then he slapped her butt. Before he had a chance to go, she had broken his arm and knocked him out. The bartender didn’t care, he knew Caitlin well enough. He asked the cleaners to remove the guy, he was blocking the bar.
Caitlin returned to watching the door. Suddenly it opened, and three guys in military-like uniforms walked in. She almost choked on her drink, then she got up.
“Charlie”, she said to the bartender. “Get me out of here.”
“Alright”, he said without hesitation. He took out a key from his pocket. “The backdoor, now!”
Caitlin started to walk slowly towards the door, careful not to draw attention. As soon as she was out of sight, she rushed towards the end of the building. She got the keys, opened the doors and rushed out into the night. She pulled her cell phone and dialled a number.
“Henderson.”
“It’s me, Caitlin.”
“Caitlin, have you met James yet?”
“No, he wasn’t there. Henderson, they’ve got him!”
“Who got him?”
“The State! They’re here, Henderson, they’re here!”

Anne left the post office late that night, and was ready to just get a drink and go home to bed. Life was easier before she left her parents, but she hadn’t had much choice, they had joined The State, and she couldn’t take that. They formalised everything. She was 19, she hadn’t even had a chance to live yet. She wasn’t about to start working for them the rest of her life.
A guard dog barked from behind a fence, but she didn’t care. She was used to it by now.
She caught a glimpse from something in the alley she passed. A movement? Might be a cat. She walked closer, very careful. Rapists and worse were everywhere. She saw into the alley and saw a man walk out. She got ready to run, but realized he wasn’t much older than her, and wasn’t moving towards her either. He was tall, fairly well built, and wearing a black leather jacket. His short hair was slightly pulled back with gel, and he didn’t look bad at all.
“Who are you?” she asked.
“Not that important, really”, he answered calmly. “What is important is that I’m offering help.”
“I don’t need help.”
“I don’t recall saying I was offering you help.”
“Then why are you here?”
“Random chance really, just bounced into you by accident.”
“Well, ok, then I’m gonna’ leave now, alright?” Anne said and started walking carefully towards the street. “You are gonna let me go, right?”
“Of course, Anne.”
She whirled around, only to see him disappear in the shadows.
"How'd you know my name?"
“Don’t go home, Anne”, he said. “They’re waiting for you there.”
Then he was gone.

Officer Hannah was displeased. Not a little, but really, really pissed. Of course, she showed this by screaming and ordering executions, as usual.
“Jennings!”
“Yes, my mistress?” a short and clearly scared man asked insecurely.
“Jennings, dear Jennings”, she said kindly, which was never good. “Explain to me, WHY THE HELL WE DON’T HAVE THE GIRL YET!?”
“Well, it’s complicated….”
“Complicated? You have the entire police force in the city at your disposal, and you can’t find one damn girl!?”
“Well…”
“Shut up! How’s the prisoner doing?”
“He’ll crack up in a few hours.”
“Not enough!”
“He’s resistant…”
“Double the Varcon dose!”
“Double? But that could….”
“Do it!”
“Yes, Enlightened One. Immediately”
Now, slightly more happy, she walked into the torture chamber. There laid a poor man, nude and strapped to a table, with two robotic arms tickling him. He was screaming, laughing and crying at the same time. Helena smiled and got up on the table, pulling her gloves off. This wouldn’t take more that fifteen minutes….
James insane screams of laughter echoed the hallways.

Anne was walking through the desolate city, still confused from her encounter with that guy in the alley. What had he meant? She didn’t get it, it made no sense. As she walked, she swore she’d either buy a new pair of jeans or lose half an inch on her bum, it was getting too tight. At least her stomach was flat, she thought, wandering down the street. Then she shook of those thoughts, she was getting vain again, and she could hardly afford rent as it was. She didn’t need a shopping craze right now.

She was just lecturing herself as she turned a corner and saw her apartment. She was just about to pull out her keys when she noticed the door was already open. Slightly confused, and worried that it had been opened the whole day, she entered.
“They’re waiting for you.”
Wasn’t that what he had said? Was there someone waiting for her up there? She shook her head, she was just imagining it, she had left the door unlocked before, no point in getting worried for nothing. Nonetheless, she stepped carefully, trying not to make a noise. She got up the stairs and grabbed the knob. Should she just turn and leave? No, that was crazy, she was just shook up from her encounter in the alley. She turned the knob and the door slid open.
Something was wrong, definitely.
She wouldn’t have left both doors unlocked.

She was just about to turn when a man in military guard uniform rushed out from the bathroom. She almost screamed, and tried to turn and run. The guard grabbed her arm, she tried to elbow him, and they both fell out in the hall, with Anne underneath. Two more guards rushed out from the bedroom, and the guard on Anne rose up and reached for his handgun. She kicked him in the groin, he fell to the side and she crawled away towards the stairs.
A hand grabbed her hips, and she kicked blindly behind her. First hit missed, second hit something hard, like a shoulder. The third time hit the belly, and the hand let go. She tumbled down the stairs, hitting her face and back.
She got up where the stairs turned, lip bloody, and started running down the rest. She could hear fast and heavy steps behind her, she wanted to run faster but her back hurt too much. She ran out of the building, across the street. The soldiers followed, far behind, but closing the distance rapidly. Anne was close to tears, why were they hunting her? She ran in an alley, tossing trashcans behind her to slow them. Her back hurt like hell, and her eyes were full of tears. She ran out of the other end of the alley.
A black car drove up to her and stopped. For a moment she thought it was more soldiers, but then a she saw a woman inside, waving for her to get in. She didn’t have a chance to outrun the soldiers, she had no choice.
She got in.

Johanna sat lonely in the aged dusty library, reading up for her history exam. It was chilly, but she wore a thick green polyester sweater and jeans, so she could put up with it. She adjusted her glasses and continued reading. She was startled when a clock started ringing, it was almost midnight. She had gotten lost in reading. She got up and waved away her ponytail of brown hair. Anne must be worried by now; she should have been back an hour ago. She packed up her books and went out, walking fast. Anne was the one taking in most of the money to the apartment, while Johanna still studied. The least she could do in return was to show up in time, and not get her roommate worried sick. She picked up the pace, resisting the urge to run past the darkest alleys.
Finally, she saw the apartment, and started finishing her excuses in the head. She had been stalled because…. There had been a mix-up in the library, no, a fire. God, she was bad at this. She reached the building door, still thinking about a good excuse, when she heard voices from afar. She turned around and saw three men coming towards her. They seemed to be dressed in military clothing, and two of them seemed a bit bruised, judging by their walk. She wasn’t sure if they were just passing by, but either way she hurried in and closed the door behind her. She didn’t consider that it was unlocked, she assumed Anne had left it open for her.
She got ready for walking up the stairs when the door behind her received a powerful kick and flew open. Her heart nearly stopped when the guards rushed in and grabbed for her. She pulled away and ran up the stairs, the guards only a few steps away. She turned a corner in the stairs and the guard nearly got her, but she threw herself forward and escaped.
She got up and kept running, opened the door to her apartment and moved to slam it closed. A hand got in and took the punch of the door, to the resulting scream of the guard. With tears of desperation in her eyes, she tried to close the door, but she couldn’t. Another guard came up and tackled the door, and it flew up. They all tumbled out on the floor, and Johanna tried to get up, slipped on the carpet, and fell again. A hand grabbed her ankle and she started kicking wildly until it let go. She rushed into the bathroom and opened the window above the bathtub. She had to get out and warn Anne, she thought and started climbing out the window. It was high above the ground, but there was a ledge to walk on. She was more than half out, head first, through the window, when a hand grabbed her hips and started pulling her back in. She fought fiercely, but he was too strong. She felt getting pulled in, struggling effortlessly to resist. She fell back in, landed on her back and saw the three guards standing above her. One, with a bad bruise in his face, punched her in the face and she passed out.

Anne had just put on the belt when the car speeded off in the night. She could hear the soldiers in the background, shouting and cursing after her. The car easily left them behind, and once they were out of sight, Anne started worrying about her driver instead. She was afraid to turn her head and look directly at her, but curiosity took over and she looked. The woman was almost a feet shorter than her (although Anne was over six feet tall, so it wasn’t that surprising), very slim and dressed in a tight leather suit. She had short black hair, reaching just enough to cover her ears, and black sunglasses. She wasn’t much older than Anne herself.
“Who are you?” Anne asked carefully.
“My name is Caitlin, and I heard you needed help”, was the only response she got.
She had heard she needed help? How? Anne hadn’t even known it herself. She couldn’t understand what was happening.
“Please, stop the car and tell me what the hell is going on!”
“We don’t have time, right now, we gotta get you safe.”
“From whom?” Anne asked, but she already knew. Those soldiers were servants of The State, she knew, her dad had used the same suit.
“Just be quiet, and I’ll take you to someplace safe.”
The car accelerated, and Anne realized they were leaving town.
She didn’t like this.
The car swerved into what looked like an abandoned small town, only a few houses total, and came to a halt. The girl in black stepped out, and Anne followed, not feeling very safe.
“Come with me”, Caitlin gestured, and Anne obeyed. They went into one of the houses, and Caitlin went to the centre of the small house, and made a small jump. She grabbed the lamp in the roof, and pulled it down by an inch or so. Ten of the floor tiles sank away, and revealed a stair leading downwards. Anne would have been amused by the cliché, had she not been so terrified.
They walked down the stairs, and came into what looked like a long school corridor, with doors everywhere.
“Where are we?” Anne asked nervously.
“This”, Caitlin said quietly. “Is the headquarter of The Resistance.”

Johanna woke up, her head feeling like it had been hit with a tire iron. She realized she was lying, and was staring up into a roof, a metallic one. Her back was cold, and she realized with a shock that she was nude, and lying in a metallic table, spread angled. Her hair was still in a ponytail, and her glasses were on, but other than that, she had nothing on her. A woman in strict military uniform stood at the end of the table, and was looking at her.
“Where am I?” she asked with fear in her voice.
“You have been taken into custody, on account of assisting a fugitive and enemy of The State”, the woman said coldly.
The State?! What had she done? Then she realized, it had to be Anne they were talking about. But what could she have done?
“Listen, I don’t know what you’re talking about, but…. Ahahahahahahahaaaa!!!”
The woman had driven a finger into her armpit without warning, and Johanna twitched and laughed. She couldn’t even try to resist, and with dread she realized she had been injected with Varcon.
“Tell us where Anne is, and you’ll go free!”
“Hahahahaha I dunno hahahahahaha!!!”
“Alright then, guess I have no choice but to torture it out of you”, she said. “Usually, we use robots, but I’ve had some requests on this one that I’ve decided to grant.”
Johanna tried to lift her head and see, but she didn’t need to. The three guards she had tried to escape from walked up to her. They were still bruised and hurt, but smiling evilly now as they gazed across her body.
“Oh, God no, you can’t leave me with them!” she screamed.
The woman grinned. “Boys, now remember to be good, she has to stay alive. Other than that, have fun.”
They dove like coyotes on her, and within an instant she was screaming with laughter.

“The Resistance?” Anne said confused and hurried beside Caitlin, who was walking very fast now. “There is no resistance in this town.”
“Only because there has never been a need for one, since The State didn’t have any influence here until now. The people down here are resistance members who have fled from the cities controlled by The State, looking for peace.”
Anne could hear footsteps from people running around behind closed doors, but tried to ignore it and focus on what she was told. The Resistance had been here all along, hiding from The State’s forces in other cities. But why had The State come here now? Didn’t they have enough to deal with elsewhere than to seek out fugitives in neutral cities? She was just about to ask this when Caitlin turned a corner and brought her through a door, into what looked like an ordinary apartment, except for no windows.
“You can stay here for now”, she said, and it was definitely not a suggestion. Anne nodded and went in, inspecting the rooms. It reminded her a bit about her own apartment. She sat down in the couch and tried to make herself comfortable. She wondered how this had all happened. A few hours ago, everything had been normal. Then she met the guy in the alley, and all went to hell.
She let the tears come, it didn’t matter. She was alone.

Johanna woke up again, soaked in sweat. She was still strapped to the metal table, still nude, and the cold metal was chilling her back and legs. She tried to look around, but she couldn’t move much. To her left she could see a man, also strapped nude to a table beside her. He looked even worse than she felt. Pale, and slowly breathing, like if his lungs didn’t really work. She felt sorry for him, but not nearly as sorry as she felt for herself. She didn’t understand what this was about. The State, she knew it had to be them, but why get her. They were after Anne, but why. The three men hadn’t asked a single question, they had just tortured her until she passed out. Her glasses were sitting wrong, probably from all the useless thrashing she had done. She tried to see if she could squirm out of the metallic bonds, but it was hopeless. She twitched when she heard a sound, and then realized it was coming from the man at her side. He had turned his head towards her, and was looking at her with drained, exhausted eyes.
“Who are you?” she asked.
“I’m… James” he said, and every word seemed to be taking a toll on him.
“What are you doing here, what am I doing here?” she said, nervously.
“Shh” he whispered, looking with dread at the door. “Look… don’t tell them anything, whatever they do to you. Okay?”
“What could I say? I don’t even know why I’m here!” she said, feeling the frustration starting to grow again.
James looked confused. “You don’t know anything? Why would they bring you here then?”
“I don’t know! I think they want Anne, but I don’t know why they…”
“Anne! You know Anne?”
“Yes”, she said, very confused now. “How come you know her?”
“Better if you don’t know, trust me. Just don’t tell them anything about her, alright? Promise me that you…” He fell silent as the door swung open. The woman in military outfit walked in, followed by Johanna’s three torturers.
“Missed us?” one of the guards grinned. Johanna thought of responding with a smart remark, but she feared that would only make things much worse. She looked away and squeezed her hips together as much as she could to cover her private area, but said nothing. She began to dread what was about to happen, but could think of no way to stop it. The woman in uniform walked over to her and put her glasses right.
“Hi, Johanna”, she said kindly. “I’m Officer Hannah.”
Johanna decided not to respond, and simply turned her head away.
Hannah smiled. “Believe me, friend, I am truly sorry for this. We thought you were a spy, a collaborator with The Resistance. Clearly we were wrong. You will soon be released, I assure you, just some paperwork that needs to be done.”
Johanna felt a wave of relief flowing over her, but she couldn’t stop to think that it didn’t seem right at all.
“Now, there’s only the matter of this… Anne”, Hannah said.
“What about her?”
“Well, we have come to the very sad conclusion that she has joined with The Resistance, most likely she has been fooled by their propaganda. We hope we can still find her before she gets too mired in their destructive mindset.”
“What do you need me for?”
“Tell us what you know of her, everything please, we don’t have much time”
Who did she think she was? She had to think Johanna was some kind of retard. They were just trying to help her? They wanted everything there was to know of Anne, and very quickly. Not to mention, they had nearly tortured her to death only hours ago. She gathered what courage she could muster.
“Screw you”, she said. All the warmth and kindness disappeared in an instant from Hannah’s face.
“As you wish”, she said. “Boys, get her to talk!”
The three men moved over to her, grinning like scavengers. One of them, Otto, she had learned his name was, went over to her head and kissed her on the lips. She responded with spitting him in the face. He stopped grinning and she felt a hand tickling her groin. She nearly jumped, and started laughing immediately. Two hands went for her feet, and she started screaming. The third guy sat on her stomach, making her lose all her air, and dug deep into her soft armpits. She trashed wildly back and forth, her glasses nearly flying off and her ponytail dashing about.
“Hahhahahahahahaha, please oh God, stop it, please, I’ll do anythiiiiiihahhahahahahahahahaaaaaa” The guard on top of her started moving down to her sides, and she screamed even louder. She could feel the fingers around her groin and spidering her soles, and there was nothing she could do about it. She pleaded and begged, but they didn’t care. She closed her eyes and kept laughing. She couldn’t help but.

excellent collaboration..fantastic plot..this is a very well-written and descriptive story..and very intriguing as well..keep up the good work.

The seeds of an epic tale lay here, I like the backdrop... but perhaps an extention would be in order. :) I liked how the world and story was setup, let's explore that further! Good writing.

Thank you to all

Thanks for the positive feedback, and yes, there is definately more to come in the series...

Glad to see it posted, Annie. Meet us on msn when you get a chance and we'll discuss the next part.

Yeah Innocent Girl, keep it up, you definetly have the knack, honey!

It's always nice to think about the future and imagine what it'll be like many years from now.

This was incredible!

I love the fantastic, futuristic concept, and the well-detailed development of character and setting before the tickling actually starts...this was intelligent, thought-provoking and just flat-out very well-written. This could easily become an entire novel! I'm greatly looking forward to the continuation of this as a series. THIS, I'm sure, is what the TMF had in mind when it created its Post Stories forum. Terrific job!
