The Good Guys finished off their last regular season road trip, going four and five on the nine day sojourn. They then returned home for a final weekend, and swept the Nationals three in a row, and, again, it was time for October.
The National League Divisional Series opened on a Tuesday in Paradise, against the Astros. Kate Hudson was on the mound, of course, and she pitched a fine game, allowing one run in eight innings, as the Good Guys got a run here, and a run there, and drew first blood, with a 4-1 win. Gil Bellows pitched on Wednesday in Game Two. He, too, was solid, allowing two runs in eight innings, as Paradise hit two homers, in a 5-2 victory.
After an off day Thursday, the teams met in Houston for Game Three on Friday. Charlize tried to finish off the Astros, but couldnt, allowing three runs in six innings, in a 3-2 defeat. Kate Hudson had the ball again on Saturday night, and, was masterful, shutting out Houston for eight frames, in a 5-0 win, that sent the Good Guys to the next round.
The Paradise Islanders flew home, and had three days to rest, before the opening of the National League Championship Series, on Tuesday night, against the New York Mets. Gil Bellows pitched that game, and gave a fine effort, allowing only two runs in seven innings, in an eventual 4-2 win, to take Game One. Kate Hudson had the ball in Game Two, and fared just as well, allowing only one run in six innngs, as the bats cracked out ten hits, in a 5-1 win, to put Paradise halfway to the World Series.
The teams flew to New York on the off day on Thursday, to meet in Game Three, at Shea Stadium in Queens, on Friday night. Charlize would be the starter in Game Three. She was hit hard, but kept the damage to three runs. However, three was enough for the Mets, as they prevailed, 3-2, for their first win of the series. Gil Bellows was on the mound in Game Four, with Paradise wanting a win. Bellows got hit around, allowing four runs in six innings. In the seventh, with the Good Guys trailing 4-1, they came up with five big runs, an advantage that the bullpen held, in what would be a 6-4 victory, that put them one win from the World Series. Holding a three game to one lead, Sniderman sent Neve Campbell to the mound for Game Five. At first, it looked like Kate Hudson could be saved for the World Series, when the Good Guys scored five times in the first inning, quieting a Shea Stadium crowd that seemed resigned to their team's end. In the sixth, Neve ran out of gas, the Mets scored seven runs, and never looked back, in an 8-7 defeat, that kept them alive.
The Good Guys and Mets returned to Paradise, to meet in Game Six on Tuesday night. This time, it looked like the Good Guys would seal the deal, with a five run first inning, to take a five run lead. Kate Hudson was the starter, but she was not sharp that night, allowing four runs by the middle innings, and she ended up being gone by the sixth. In the meantime, the Mets kept adding runs, to take a 9-7 advantage into the ninth. At first, it looked like there would be Game Seven, but, then, two bloop hits, were followed by Ed Burns coming to the plate. Mets closer Billy Wagner got a strike on the switch hitting Burns, and then, Burns connected, and rocketed a long homer, over the left field wall, to give Paradise a 10-9 win, the National League Championship, and a trip to the World Series, against the Yankees on Saturday night. The team was exasperated, and besides themselves, and there was still one more mile to go.
The Good Guys would meet, of course, who else? The Yankees, in the World Series, beginning on a crystal clear, 72 degree night, in Paradise. Kate Hudson, of course, would be on the mound, against Yankees lefthander Randy Johnson. Both were fine, but Kate was better, as Johnson allowed two runs, and Kate just one. Hilary Duff saved the day in the ninth, and the Good Guys got first blood, with a 2-1 win. Gil Bellows pitched Game Two. There were a few more runs scored in this one, as Yankee righty Mike Mussina allowed four runs, and Gil gave up three, in six innings. In the eighth, tied, 4-4, the Yankees made a costly error, and allowed the Good Guys a run, in what would end up being a 5-4 Good Guy win, to put them half way to the title.
After an off day Monday, the teams met in New York's Yankee Stadium for Game Three on Tuesday night. Charlize would oppose Yankee right hander Chin Min Wang. Charlize was decent, allowing four runs, three earned, in six innings, but Wang was better, permitting but two runs, in a 4-2 Yankee win, for their first win of the series. Kate Hudson would hook up with Randy Johnson again in Game Four. This time, both pitchers were razor sharp, both allowing one run over seven innings each. In the eighth, tied 1-1, left fielder Dawson came up, and hit a bases clearing double, to give Paradise a 4-1 lead, that they never relinquished, and finalized, for a three game to one lead in the series. Gil Bellows would pitch Game Five, with the Champange on ice for Paradise. The Yankees, however, would not allow a celebration on their field, as they battered Bellows for six runs in three innings. The Good Guys nearly rallied in the ninth, but fell short, 6-5, to send the series back to Paradise.
The teams flew back to the Bahamas for Game Six on Saturday night. Charlize would get the assignment. She proved to be masterful, allowing two hits, and no runs, through six innings. In the meantime, the Good Guys scratched two runs out off of Chin Min Wang. Naomi pitched a spotless seventh, Amanda Bynes a scoreless eighth, and, in the ninth, Hilary Duff entered, to try and perserve the ultimate for Paradise. An infield pop, was followed by a fly ball to center. Then, the last Yankee batter was up. He hit a fly ball to medium deep right field. Mitch tracked it in the lights, caught it in his glove, dropped to one knee, and, it was over, the Good Guys were World Champions, again! As he fell to his knees, Mitch took a deep breath, as he didnt know if that was the last play he would ever make in major league baseball. Quickly, the other outfielders ran over to Mitch, and the three outfielders of the Good Guys, embraced in a hug, before they ran to join their teammates in the infield. As the PA system blared "We Are The Champions", and the Yankees respectfully applauded from their dugout, the emotion of it all overcame Mitch, and the right fielder began sobbing. Then, manager Sniderman, milling about in the infield, hugging his players, brought Naomi over to Mitch. Mitch was so overcome, that he couldnt speak. He just hugged Naomi, and the two of them burst into tears. Although it wasnt the most dramatic win the team had ever had, it might have been the sweetest, as it could have been the last, for the couple. Before the team headed to the clubhouse, they looked up at the stands, where 60,000 people were screaming, applauding, crying, and savoring the moment. Then, in an impromptu show of class, and something they had never done, the entire Good Guys team stood in front of their dugout, and applauded the fans, for supporting them all season, and always. Mitch grabbed one of the microphones, that was set up for interviews, and said: "We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and we are so proud to be able to bring this ultimate conclusion to you", to a roar from the crowd. The team then made their way to the clubhouse, where, of course there were trophy presentations, champange celebrations, laughter, and more tears. As Mitch was named series MVP, several media people shoved microphones in his face, and asked the inevitable: "Was this it? Are you done, Mitch?" Mitch looked at Naomi, and gave a non committal answer:" I honestly dont know. Earlier this year, I thought so, but, after this, I am not sure. I just want to savor this, and enjoy it with my wife, and my team, and then we will talk. Right now, I am just overcome with joy, for our team, and the fans" Mitch said, remaining non committal. The team, once it finished it's interviews, and celebrations, went off to a huge dinner and banquet. Once there, a shocking thing happened. Alan, sitting at the long table, with the team, stood up and announced:" I am going to submit myself as tickle victim tonight, in a show of thanks to all of you, for winning this title for us, so, all women, come on and tickle me!" Alan said.
The team was in another room of what was the fetish club, so, Alan stripped down, to his underwear, and was tied hands and feet to the bed. Kate Hudson began the tickle on Alan's neck with fingers, as the laughter began:HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! NO! Working down, Amanda Bynes was next, tickling Alan on his underarms, sides, ribs, and belly with fingers, causing more bucking, and howling:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! AAAAH NOOOOO! Moving down, Neve Campbell was the next ler, tickling Alan on his hips, inner thighs, and knees with fingers, causing leg bucking, and laughter:HHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAA! Finally, Naomi got to the soles of his feet, and attacked them with fingers, feathers, ice, and electric toothbrushes over his soles and toes. Alan went beserk, jerking his feet, and wiggling his toes, begging for mercy:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! OMG PLEASE NO MORE! I GIVE UP! NOOOOOO! HHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH! Finally, the tickle ended, and Alan was untied.
So, the season had ended with the ultimate. However, Mitch and Naomi had no contracts for the following year, so, what would happen? Was that World Series win it, or would they be back the following year? That answer to come in the continuing story of the Tickle Team From Paradise Island.

The End

Another Good Guys championship brings the gold home right where it belongs. And even Mitch seemed to be upbeat and positive about his future. I can't wait till the start of the next season. Another great one and I look forward to the next.

HappyD

Thank you, happy, your praise is appreciated, as always. Yes, the championship will have an influence on Mitch's decision about his future. The previous season was so tumultuous, both on field, and off, that it is likely he might have called it quits, if the team had lost the World Series. Since they ended up as champions, he is having fun again, and will want to stay, Alan or no Alan, Naomi or no Naomi, and scathing teammates, or no scathing teammates.
As you know, stay tuned, there will be more to come soon.

Mitch
