Sports teams (or athletes) you HATE

What sports teams (or figures) just grind you gears? For me:

1. Los Angeles Dodgers- Because I'm a Giants fan... and those guys have knocked us out of playoff contention too many times to count over the years.

2. New York Yankees- Billion dollar payroll and all the ESPN attention you could want. I get sick and tired of hearing about them. F New York!

3. Dallas Cowboys- America's Team my ass! Most of my hatred stems from them booting my 49ers out of the playoffs in the 90's.

4. New England Patriots- Brady this and Brady that. Sick of hearing about him and the cheater, ERRR the Hoodie. This team is a couple of bonehead plays away from being 1-3.

5. Brett Favre- I'm sick and tired of hearing about this guy. Even worse, every network is all over this guy's nutsack no matter what he does or says.

Honorable Mentions: Boston Red Sox- Yankees vs. Red Sox. So the F what? I'm sick of hearing about their rivalry and I live on the other side of the country. Every time they have a game, it's the highlight of the sports world. F both of those teams!

I used to really hate the Malmö Redhawks (Swedish hockey team), but I'm fairly apathetic about them these days. Nowadays I only hate Södertälje SK (another Swedish team).


As for players:

Sidney Crosby - don't get me started
Rob Niedermayer - "hate" is a strong word, but I dislike him after his cheap shot on Forsberg in the 2004 IHWC final.
Robert "lazyass" Nilsson - had all the talent in the world as a kid, but started playing counterstrike instead of showing up for practice. Actually a true story.
Tommy Salo - hated him as a player, hate him as a coach.


I also have a sort of love-hate relationship to Nicklas Backstrom in Washington. I used to hate him with passion when he played in Sweden, but I'm slowly getting over that now as he's playing for my favourite NHL team.

New York Mets (With a passion).

Bobby Valentine (Yes, he counts as an athlete because he was a manager and player.) When he managed the Mets, I despised the SOB.

Willie Randolph-former Mets manager, and player. The sullen look he used to have in the dugout when his team wasn't doing well would drive me insane. I never saw a manager of a major league baseball team with so little fire.

Larry Bowa-former Phillies manager, and player. An arrogant, loud, SOB. The type of guy one would love to kick in the rocks.

Gary Carter-Former Mets catcher. As arrogant a player as there ever was. His high fives after home runs in the 80s, were irritating.

Darryl Strawberry, Former major league outfielder. Completely overrated as a player. Everyone thought he was going to be the next Ted Williams. Utterly wasted potential due to injury, and substance abuse.

George Steinbrenner, Yankees Owner. He isnt an athlete or team, but he is the owner of the most famous sports team in the world. A complete jackass, buying championships by having payrolls two to three times the size of everyone else's.

Pat Riley-Laker, Knick, and Heat coach, and now Heat President. A pompous jerk. His post game press conferences when he was coaching the Knicks used to drive me berserk, especially if the Knicks lost. He acted like he was supposed to go 82-0, and win championships every season.

That's a pretty long list, lol.

Patriots (whos gives a crap about brady and moss) 19-1 last year cuz they choked.
Atlanta Falcons(the 98 run for the superbowl was a fricken set up...Minnesota should have won that game)
Detroit Lions..they jsut plain suck
Buffalo Bills...they suck just as much as the lions
New York Yankees...They BUY their players..No hard work ethic at all over there

As a life long Maple Leafs fan, I hate the following:

1. Montreal Canadiens - Their egotistical nature suits their fans in Quebec well (oops! did I just say that? ) Yankee's of Hockey my ass!

2. Ottawa Senators - A blight on the planet. How they can exist while franchises in Winnepeg and Quebec City do not is beyond me.... their owner is the ultimate whiner and though the Leafs didn't go to the final each of the FOUR years in a row that they beat Ottawa soundly in the playoffs, I'm happy to see that they're having troubles of their own this season

3. Philladelphia Flyers - Need I say more? Bobby Clark on down, these are the worst group of thugs and whiners the league has ever seen.... and I hate them LOL

4. The entire panel of TSN... thank the baby Jesus if you live in the US, watch hockey and don't have to listen to those morons

5. The CBC for letting go of the Hockey Night in Canada song and allowing Bob Cole and Harry Neale to split.... HNIC has never been the same When Don Cherry goes, so will I

We tied them several years for 1st in the MAC west but our only loss was to Toledo so despite same records and tie for first, they had the tie breaker game over me

Pretty much the entire MAC is comprised of Ohio

Also Toledo cost NIU a bowl game in 2003 when we were 10-2

Alex Rodriguez - All for A-Fraud and A-Fruad for no one but him, all he cares about are his numbers, his money and oh yeah himself, he'd sell his team down the river just make himself look good and the only reason Yankee fans he's on your team, is so he can coat tail you to a world series ring with out having to do a lot.
