I think that adaptability is a rather underappreciated skill, mostly because it's one not many people possess. Honesty is a hard road; most people do not see their own faults, think themselves infallible to the point where all others are completely marginalized. You can't adapt yourself to being critical towards yourself. Or if are are tuned to be critical, you go over everything with a napalming touch, second guessing your third guesses, accepting blame after blame after blame until the stress
Ever felt like your station in life was threatened? Or even better, that you are not happy with said station? Every single stitch of bullshit we use to justify why we do the things we hate, the things that upset us to our very core...we accept for creature comforts. We accept mediocre, unfulfilling jobs because of our bills. We stick with them because it becomes more acceptable to squander ourselves for televisions, for fast food, for video game consoles, and for trips to see people all across
Every few weeks, I run a thought experiment to see how my emotional constitution has changed; this could mean it devolves to a more base state where I can't understand my own emotions, or a sort of mental peak were everything seems clear. Moments of clairvoyance are rather few for the human consciousness, I do believe, mostly because the gravitas of such observations can cut you to ribbons. They aren't always pretty, nor are they supposed to be. Clarity rarely lacks the jarring effect.
