Some good news that you probably haven't heard yet.
Earlier this month, deaths from influenza and pneumonia dropped to the point where the word "epidemic" is no longer appropriate, according the to Center for Disease Prevention and Control. See the graph below.

I don't know what you're on about but graphs always make me feel calmer. Hoorah!
People were fearing that the H1N1 influenza virus would spread in vast epidemic proportions and cause millions of deaths worldwide. This has not happened.
The CDC has found that deaths from flu and pneumonia have dropped below the level of concern for an epidemic of any size. It's just an ordinary flu season now.
