Closet interracial admirers
Hey out there,
I was wondering if there are indeed 'closet' homosexuals out there, meaning homosexuals who deny the fact that they are homosexual to others, could there be individuals out there who are attracted to people of other races and deny it for fear of having to take criticism from their peers? I mean can anyone out there weigh in on this one?

Archie Bunker.
I think Archie Bunker was the prototype.
Well, he loved Edith, no question, but if he (his generation) wasn't brainwashed
(and Jefferson as well, he seemed about as keen on "honkeys" as Bunker was on "negroes" and they were both full of sh*%...)
---- they would've been colorblind.
Given enough wine, I'm sure both (meatheads) would've drooled over any attractive specimen brought forth before them... And maybe they did in some episodes... ?
I'm sure there are too many who are too influenced by their families' preferences, sadly.
It's not quite as damaging as the pressure put upon homosexuals to marry hetero, since at least the person is shoved towards others of their preferred gender, but when couples have been prevented from dating or broken up for that, that's barbaric.
This is not quite parallel but ----
I was friendly with a couple in college who were eventually split by ethnic more than racial lines, but I guess it could be both; her family is from India, his is Italian American. She was raised here. Both are Christian, too, but different denominations (Eastern Orthodox & Roman Catholic, that shouldn't have been an issue).
Perfect match as individuals. They didn't care --- they dated a few years, secretly, until her father found out.
And changed the phone number, at least twice.... The pressure was awful, she was told the ENTIRE family back in India would suffer extreme disgrace, there would be widespread repercussions, etc., etc.....
....and I was thinking, well, gee, who needed to tell them?
But I guess she could never visit extended family in India ever again, at least not with an Italian-American husband....
Lost contact after college, hope they reconnected. But at least neither of them cared about race or ethnicity, she just caved to intense familial pressure.
Considering she felt she practically had an entire village's fate on her head, one could hardly blame her.
Her father, however, is another matter... Maybe he was a "closet interracial admirer" who was himself frustrated at some point... But the jackass couldn't see through it, either way.

Thankfully I grew up having very accepting parents who taught me that we love one another regardless of race or sexual orientation or religion. I grew up having friends of ALL kinds and it's only made me a richer person and I'm so blessed to have had that experience growing up. Not everyone can identify with that though. I have a dear friend who is white and has been in a one year relationship with a wonderful black man but for fear of being rejected by her father, has kept the relationship hidden and he, for fear of being rejected by his mother, has done the same. Their friends don't seem to be the problem in this one.....it's their families and it really is a shame. These two, besides being wonderful human beings, are such an awesome couple. And it makes me really sad because they are such wonderful people who both deserve to be happy. I think they're at the point though where they're just fed up with hiding it to please their families and they just don't want to hide their love for one another any longer. It's going to come at a risk for both of them possibly losing contact with their respective parents though. And that sucks. They know I'll always be there for them. I can't imagine what it would be like to be abandoned by your family because of your choice of mate but it happens all of the time, whether it's due to race, religion or sexual orientation. Nobody should have to feel like that.
I wish more schools would focus on teaching kids acceptance at an early age for those kids who obviously aren't taught that at home although I'm sure that would lead to controversy in some places. Ugh.
