Torso/Chest hair on men still a thing?

So yeah, just out of curiosity. Is hair on a man's chest/torso still a thing? Sexy? Attractive? Appealing? Everywhere I look now adays, most men I see who are younger than me, around my age, and older than me all have little to no hair on their chests/torsos. I am a 23 year old male fyi. Most guys I know either trim their hair to the point where you can barely see it, or shave it off completely. Also, most women younger than me or around my age or even a little older, when asked, all have stated that they prefer little to no hair on their man's chest and that it can be a turn-off. Overall, I think I am relatively attractive, but I am pretty self-conscious about my chest hair, to the point where I am kind of hesitant to take my shirt off sometimes. I mean, I don't have so much that it looks like a fur coat (lol), but like I said, I have a lot more hair on my chest/torso than most guys I know or even see at the beach and many other places.

So once again, is chest hair on men a thing of the past? Should all men now be expected to shave their chests or keep themselves trimmed and shaved? Is that the way our future generations and society is heading?

I used to work with a long time buddy of mine. Hell of an engineer, this guy. But he was always wearing polo shirts completely unbuttoned, showing a heavy thatch of chest hair protruding. The women hated it, but they too were also engineers, most of them from the far east and from India. The guy is married, and hence doesn't give a shit what they think. I guess he's old school and thinks that chest hair is manly.

I'm old school too, but if I had chest hair like that, I would either start shaving/waxing, or at the very least, I would button up my shirt and cover that shit up. I can't help but associate it with a lack of proper grooming, like women who refuse to shave their underarms or guys refusing to clip their fingernails. I mean, a little bit is reasonable, but when people think you're wearing a sweater at the beach, it's time to take action.

I can't really speak on the attraction levels of someone with chest hair, but my previous partners have never voiced any aversion to it - In my experience female partners and friends have always had a much bigger issue with men that have a hairy back, hairy eyebrows or hairy toes.

But as the poster above mentions, the general attitude to a woman with hairy armpits is not that accepting, so we should not be surprised by an aversion to male chest hair. But where does it stop? Hairy legs? Hair on the head?!

I tend to have a tiny amount poking out at the top when I wear a shirt, which I've always thought seemed fairly masculine, but I've also had people like this to some sort of 1970s porn star!
I wouldn't feel less masculine if it wasn't there - it only really occurs because I feel a bit restricted when I have my top button fastened or when I wear a tie.

My chest hair is almost an hourglass shape, with a small section at the top middle, merging into a light, fair narrow section going down the centre of my stomach, then 'blossoming' out again just below my naval where it obviously merges eventually into my groin area. Some people have previously called it a crab ladder. For those who are particularly interested in this subject you can see my chest hair on a couple of my TMF pics I think :laughhard:

I've never shaved it and only occasionally had to trim a few longer hairs, but mostly it just stays the same and as it's fairly symmetrical and not overpowering I prefer to just leave it. It's a naturally occurring part of my body and I can imagine shaving it would be itchy and time consuming, so the occasional trim is all I will do.

Nobody is under any obligation to adhere to whatever is deemed as sexy/masculine/feminine/well-presented etc, but I think we all have a obligation to try to remain hygienic at least

Cheers

So, as a human, I can say all different kinds of people find all different kinds of things sexy. As a female, the primal instincts in me are attracted to tall, muscley, somewhat furry dudes. The combination just seems to ooze testosterone. Mmmmyes

lol, thanks for comments everyone. Time to grow a fur coat and live in the forest with the other forest animals

Relax...in my experience, women who like men usually don't mind a little grass on the playground.

Interesting topic The_Hawk. I just shaved mine today as I'm going to a pool party tomorrow and dig the shaved look. Never quite labeled myself a bodybuilder, coming from the powerlifter mindset and background, but as for showing features and definition I've always dug the shorter style.

I think women are turned off more by hairy shoulders more then a hairy chest but this is the "manscaping" "metro-sexual" era. So don't be surprised if some women like their men to look a little bit less hairy.

chest hair is nice. :) bodyscaping of the 'ball fro' area seems to be the rage for years now.

I have noticed that when I actually go to the gym for a long period of time, once every century, and start getting in shape (muscular, I'm usually just skinny) I can see my abs and muscle definition better, which I personally think is sexier. Also, that sheep is legit. I fail to see any issue... :)

Chest hair exists on men for a very good reason. If you've ever wondered why, compare your romps as an adolescent with those you've had as a mature man, if you are one yet.

After the usual noisy foreplay so beloved by the members (f'nar f'nar) of this site, a subsequent energetic fuck if done correctly and for a sufficient length of time to Satisfy the Lady, will cause you both to sweat. If the male's chest isn't hairy your upper bodies will thus form a perfect seal and stick together, repeatedly causing noises like two toilet plungers separating and resulting in great amusement for both participants every time you move.

This destroys concentration.

So be proud of your chest hair and grow it as long as possible.

Kittentoes still enjoys running her feet through mine while we're lying at opposite ends of the sofa reading or whatever, and I'm not complaining.

I can't stop laughing at this ^

Also, I don't mind it but it seems that guys have acquired a very 'androgynous' fashion... Oh, well I'm gonna say it, feminine! Specially younger guys... they like tighter clothes, this haircut that has some sort of bangs...anyway, the hipster fashion.

I try not to bash on people who do this but personally, I don't like it. I like hairy men. Like animal. Lmao.
