How to be a tickle producer?

Hello!!!

I am hoping to touch base and pick the brain of a tickle video producer. I only plan to produce a small volume of clips and do not see myself as competition for the "big boys".

I have unique access to multiple tickler and and lee amateur models, (legit ticklish women and men).

I want to give back to the community. I have the opportunity to produce some videos with 100% real ticklish folks I have experience in the video production world, but nothing relating to tickle videos. I hope to get some advice and tips on how to start....we can discuss compensation for the advice.

Thank you all so much for your help. I've been a lurker for 20 years and it's time to give back!

Michael

Grab a camera and just start doing it. That's what I did. So long as you think of it as a hobby and not a money making venture it'll be nothing but fun.

I recommend the 'personal art blog' style, free reign on various websites and not reliant on standard porn sites which will turn off "vanillas" and potential models. Grab a camera and do your best to come across as professional and non-creepy as possible (however never lie to anyone about what you're doing, 'science project' and 'it's totally not a fetish it's just a fun little thing..' type shit) and when you start, have 3 or 4 good quality "clean" videos to show potential models. Even if you want to branch out into more sexual material, introducing it with PG videos will give a good mental image of what you're going for, and they can leave it at that or get into kinkier stuff as it goes. Having a nice, diverse handful of clips to show off will help a lot more in finding people to get involved than you might really think, so make that the top priority.

Great advice. Thank you! I have not yet read the term "vanillas" in this context. What does it mean?

Thanks!

Excellent advice! Though I'm not looking to be a producer, I'm still intrigued to learn this type of stuff.

Move this thread to the main Tickling Discussion area, that way you'll get more attention since many people don't visit the video clip section.

I'll give you the advice the mainstream movie guys get - shoot something. Shoot some videos. Go shoot something, anything.
Bare feet, pantyhose feet, socked feet, pantyhose feet.

Release them and see what the feedback is, choose to follow some of it, do what you want to do with other videos, and just keep shooting and keep tickling.

Good luck!

What they all said. ^^^^ Just remember to have fun with it! Hell im still learning myself

You are all awesome! Thank you for the wonderful responses.
How many copies of a clip are sold on average IF the tickle clip is well received? Is it bought by 10 people? 100? A 1000? What is the average?

Thank you all again!

I've never sold a clip, though be aware even a lot of the top notch guys here have expressed frustration that a lot of their material goes unsold. So it stands to reasons you won't be making significant cash doing this.

I find that suprising...there are 10's of thousands of tickle clips and 100's of producers that create tickling content...some of them must be making a profit, no? Am I missing something?

Thanks!

I'm sure some of them are, just that it's not uncommon to see guys here make comments about not them turning much profit.

I've always been somewhat intersted in producing content, free or otherwise, being a photographer, videographer, editor and enthusiast. Anyone know about certain filming laws/restrictions in various states. Including my home, Nebraska.

No, you're not. As a new producer, expect to make exactly Jack and Shit. And Jack's about to leave town.

If a video is "well received", depending on how much you spent to make it, you might break even, or even turn a profit in the tens of dollars. ooh, ah.

That said, if you're hell-bent on joining the Few, the Proud (the Stupid?), you should basically do the following.

0) Research the legalities of the thing. Read up on 18USC2257 and what records you're required to keep.

1) Find a model. You said you've already got this covered, so hurrah. Make sure said model signs a release and fills out her 2257 paperwork.

2) Get a camera, if you don't already have one.

3) Make sure your lighting, etc. doesn't suck. Read some photography/videography books/articles to find out how to do this.

4) Film your video.

5) Edit your video. Good editing software can be found for free; I recommend Hitfilm 4 Express, but you can also get away with using iMovie or Windows Movie Maker.

6) Open a Clips4Sale store.

7) Profit! (...maybe). Clips4Sale doesn't send you your moneys unless you sell at least $50 worth of clips. Whether or not I get paid every month is a coin flip, but it's steadily gotten better within the last year or so.

If you have a great model, and good production quality - crystal clear video, well lit set, nice set up, etc. you will do better than mediocre all of those mentioned.

If you have a kick ass model, people will make the effort to get your clip.

I'll use Simply Tickling for example - he had some good clips, then he hired Savannah, a spectacular model who became VERY popular because she is incredibly ticklish,
has a great laugh, is beautiful, and most importantly, REALLY seems to enjoy being tickled. She is one of the funnest ticklees out there.

I will make the effort to buy her clips, I have bought every one featuring her in pantyhose, my favorite material to have a girl tickled in.

I love the really thin, suntan or flesh colored barely there sheer toe pantyhose. They're heaven.
If she gets tickled in those any time, hopefully soon, ...I will buy literally every one he puts out. If he puts on 15 clips, I'd buy all 15.
If I don't have enough money at the time, no problem,...I will work extra shifts at my labor intensive job to afford them, so no worries!

The point of this is, he has created a bunch of huge fans after finding such a fantastic model. He has found a gold mine of a model.
Other companies have done the same, it's all in if the models have that "magic." Which could be anything, a great tickler, great laugher, someone intense, someone nerdish,
it's a huge gamut.

If you can create that fire that I described in your fans, you will create something wonderful....how much profit will you make? Who knows.
The economy does suck now, as it has for about a decade at this point, so sales are slow everywhere for everything - farmers markets, movies, retail stores, restaurants, etc.

BUT....people will still flock to what's great. The Marvel movies are a tidal wave of success. Apple products are still doing well. (They're down, but they're not going under for sure.)

I'll weigh in on this a bit. When I first started my lighting was terrible, camera over heated CONSTANTLY, and bondage was far from professional. I made over 1000 over my profit. But I had released 14 clips that month. Out of all of those only 5 made a major profit. The others made small profits or none at all. Realize many here will talk about how amazing a clip is etc etc yet never buy it. Or even worse, pirate it. Which is another problem. Be ready and MAKE SURE your models know they can end up on sites like pornhub. It always happens. From the best producers to the worst. Sadly it's getting worse with more clips pirated by day.

Overall man, have fun. Indulge your fetish but don't be creepy or sexual. Have fun. Post EVERYTHING. Some clips I thought would be trash did amazing. Always look to be better. Bondage IS NOT EVERYTHING. If anything I've proven this tenfold. Good luck man. If you need help message me!

Some great advice has been given. A couple of things that jump out at me:
1. Do what YOU personally enjoy. Can't do someone else better than they can.
2. If you're going to utilize bondage, and you haven't already, you should familiarize yourself with safe and sane play.
3. Try to always have several weeks of update content on hand. Inevitably something happens which will throw a wrench in your shooting schedule - you may have to postpone or stop shooting. By having content stored, you can still provide regular updates.

As to the sales - it can be up and down. The poster who mentioned models specifically really summed my experience up. There will be some models who connect with buyers in a very powerful way. I have been unable to quantify or predict it, because literally the looks, the laughs, the reactions have been as different as you can get, but when it happens, the sales from one clip can equal an entire month's take. And of course there are scenes I'm positive are pure gold, and they don't sell at all. LOL

Best of luck to you!

Appreciate all of the amazing advice coming in from the community. I plan to shoot some material this weekend and will post it for feedback.
Stay tuned....

Two questions, technicals one :

What shutter speed and Frame / second settings do studio use ? 60 fps or 24 are enough ? I guess the shutter speed should be double like in cinema.
Also why do people keep selling files in wmv as it is far from universal (big up to Applers) ? Mp4 would be the best quality choice right ?

True even though I wouldn't say massive, maybe 20 % more.

And with H265 mp4 is much lighter ... but nobody supports this codec atm, shame.

It would be REALLY nice to see more girl on guy tickling where the guy is very obviously and genuinely turned on by the tickling being done, close ups on cock and ball tickling, and even guys coming JUST from tickling, without stroking required. Also, more very close up pussy tickling with feathers, and ass tickling!!! Preferably with laughers, not screamers!

Massive file sizes.

To expand on this, Most of the video sites (Clips4Sale and KinkBomb, for sure) have limits to how large the files can be versus how long they can be. IIRC, Clips4Sale requires that any file over 2.5GB must be over 24 minutes long. At "standard" export quality, the HD version of the 24-ish minute "Barbie vs. Natasha" from my store is 1.1GB - which means there's no way I'd be able to host the full video at a what would be considered "good/exceptional" quality. If you make short clips, this isn't really a huge thing but it's still something to keep in mind.

Also, .wmv is far from "not universal". I offer both .mp4 and .wmv versions of my clips and the .mp4 versions rarely sell. You'd think it was because they're in standard def, but more people buy standard than HD in my experience. Watching videos on tablets and phones is the new hotness, apparently, and nobody wants to waste half a gig of storage on a single video.

Okay, say someone has the knowhow but no models. How is the best way to approach people for this kind of work so you don't come off as creepy?
