Hey, I downloaded Devil princess Noir, but for some reason when I try to open it up it just gets stuck at the "Now loading..." bit, anyone else getting the same problem?
 
The images are encrypted, slightly complicating translation of the game. It makes the images not load in RPG Maker MV, which in turn makes it hard to verify the context of dialog which might otherwise be unclear.

Anyway, if someone's considering translating this game, a couple things to note:

1) There's a tool that can make with translating the map files a bit more convenient: http://gamestailer94.de/translator/
2) You can go into the www folder and just edit the .json files, changing the Japanese to English via a 3rd party tool. JSON is just plain text, so you can open it in the text editor of your choice. Notepad++ and Atom are good and free.
 
Very helpful, thanks Lurk. That translator tool does help in finding all those event text-boxes without even going into the game itself. A pity I can't get it to work for the text inside the Common Events. But it's still useful.

It's clear that a bit of effort was put into making this 'Noir' game so I'll make an attempt in translating. No promises though, I haven't got to grips with RPG Maker MV so I may need to do a bit of tinkering.
 
Is there another place to download this game from? I cannot finish the download from this site. I get to maybe 90MB and then the download stops and is corrupted since it didn't download the entire file. It seems its the site severing the connection.

My pleasure.

I translated some of the labels for CommonEvents, Switches, Variables, etc. but don't have any plans to translate the game in full. If you or someone else is working on it, I wouldn't mind sharing what I've finished so far. I also threw together a map hack that lets me skip directly to the tickling scenes, via a menu. Helpful for translating CommonEvents, especially if you don't have RPG Maker MV.



One of the annoying things about MV-produced games is that using a text hooking tool like ITH doesn't actually grab the text. It winds up seeing 4 Game.exe processes for every one instance of MV open, and none of them provide the actual game text when attached.

EDIT: Looks like 1.04 is out now. My work was on 1.03, though. Oops.

It took a little while but here it is. A translated version of Devil Princess Noir. Just extract the folder and click the 'Game' application to run. Probably one of the best tickle games I've played so far in terms of game mechanics and cute art.

For some reason I can't download the game for the Windows version. anybody have any suggestions?
 
nevermind. I right clicked it and downloaded it that way. Very well done, Pinkfizz. Just curious, can you translate Japanese very well?
 
For some reason, I seem to be having trouble opening up the Mac version. I have it extracted and I'll double click the game's icon, but nothing happens. For a split second it looks like it'll open, but never does. Is anybody else having this issue?

I'm having a similar issue with the Mac version. Once I extract it, I'll double click on the game icon, it look like it's about to start, then I get a pop up window that says the Mac can't run the program.

This is a fun little game with cute artwork though being unable to understand japanese had me trapped on the second boss. It has a shield that makes it immune to certain damages each time I fight it and sometimes it breaks and sometimes it doesn't, I have no clues as to what attacks to use but if you waste time guessing you pretty much run out of TP and get beaten by its super attack.

I've made it through all the puzzles up to that point so I can help anyone else up to then.

You know how you can pass the block on the 15 floor?
When I interact with it a cutscene happen and then Game Over...

The clue is the "Gemini" sign. The two rooms are nearly-identical, but the top room has 5 rocks which are extra in comparison to the bottom room. Those 5 rocks, when removed, create a winding path to the end and will cause the pillar to be removed.

I was able to figure out how to beat the 2nd boss. If anyone is stuck and wants help just PM me.
 
The game end at 20° floor?
I beat the Boss but a enemy block my way.
 
Once you beat the 1st boss it should allow you to pass to the 2nd level.
 
The boss is a big slime that conjures stonehands?
I beat it but the path north is blocked anyway.

Okay, found the Lab level: in Floor 5 how can I find the Pot?
And in floor 15 how can I open the door? And the Pot?
 
How In the world do you get past the break odd objects puzzle? The Odd even list doesn't even make sense, I am totally lost on this one.


EDIT: OK well that ones done, I was just too tired to get it xD. Now I have to draw my name with buttons????

If you go back to the previous puzzle stage (floor 15 if I remember correctly), you can see how the author draws it. (Words on the wall)
