Darth Sidius is one of the few producers in this fetish industry that has successfully developed his own technologies that have protected himself and his clients from 3rd party/external abuse, piracy, among other things. He hosts his own e-commerce store. He also claims that he uses his companies technologies to make money on the side for consulting gigs. He has aggressively pursued lawsuits against people that have pirated his content, and apparently he's been victorious with some of these lawsuits.

I purchased a few of his videos a while back, but I lost them over time due to hard drive crashes. I am able to provide proof of the credit card transaction, order numbers and emails to verify that I am not trying to scam him. But he refuses to help me out here. His excuse is that "links expire after 10 days and he can't do anything about it", and after I tried to do everything objectively to explain that I am not trying to fraudulently take advantage of him, he just ignores me.

It amazes me that someone with his technological skills set, business mindset, and aggressive personality that he refuses to accommodate the people that have made him money in the past. I am not going to argue that I am a loyal customer that has spent tons of money on his videos. With his intelligence and skillset, he knows damn well that he can make sure that I am not trying to commit an act of fraud here.

His problem is that he is paranoid and doesn't want to even risk it.

So in my mind, his highest priority is to protect his business, his models and his own interests over anything else. It says a lot about his character as a business man and human being. He produces great content, no doubt about it. But ultimately, he has no compassion or empathy for his customers.

Just my opinion.
 
Now I've heard people talking about this and it makes no sense, because if your intention was to share it with people, why would you need a link he gave you, and not just downloading it elsewhere and rehosting it where he didn't know about?

Although there's also the case to be made maybe he doesn't actually think you'll pirate them at all, and just thinks you'll eventually shell out the money to buy them again if you want them badly enough.

Look... I have not bought anything from his so I am just an outside observer.

But.... when a company tells me what their policy is... I have to accept that. Not keep writing them and asking them to change their already set policy because I (you in this case) screwed up. (And yes I get it- your hard drive crashed.) But he's not responsible for what your computer does. Blame your computer not him. WHY ruin future dealings with him for something your computer is responsible for?

I use to have a dog. And one time he scratched the hell out of one of my cds. Was I supposed to go back to Best Buy (even though I kept the receipt.) and say: "WELL... YOU OWE ME ANOTHER CD BECAUSE MY DOG SCRATCHED IT? AND I HAVE A RECEIPT!!" Here's the scenario I imagine would have happened if I had done that:

Best Buy: "Umm... maam we are not responsible for any damages that occur once you unwrap the cd unless it doesn't work to begin with."

Me: "Oh ok... thanks anyway!"

But I would never do this in the first place. I worked in retail for many years and understand how different policies are set up and WHY they are set up. TO protect themselves from FRAUD. My damaged cd happened because I wasn't careful enough. I wouldn't even blame my dog! And I take responsibility for that. At least he offers a 10 day extension! I think that's pretty awesome actually.

Why are you bringing this up at all? I think that's smart and I HOPE the other producers can find a way to do it as well. What's right is right. I spend money on something and ask money for X product= just to get ripped off and pirated?? NO!

Oh so being a loyal customer means he is supposed to know you so well. Have you had dinner at his house? Have you been in his pool?

You are one of hundreds of thousands of internet customers. He cannot sit here and differentiate between anyone. You don't think he's been scammed before? Or pirated? I am pretty sure without knowing his back story that this policy is set up for a REASON.

You start all of these heinous threads about how Producers need to get their shit together... APOLOGIZE AFTER THE FACT WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR BUTT HANDED TO YOU... AND NOW THIS THREAD? This is crying wolf syndrome. And no smart customer or Producer will take you seriously anymore.

In the future: ASK what a companies policies are BEFORE you purchase. Have you ever heard the term "BUYER BEWARE"? A smart customer looks into policies before hand to know what they're getting themselves into. You should try that...

That's a fallacy. It's real easy to connect the dots about somebodies character based on how they operate their business practices. Get over yourself. You have worked in retail for years? I'm assuming that you weren't an operations manager, a director of a division or department, or anything else. Which would mean that you weren't actually assigned any high level responsibility; so again, get over yourself you arrogant douche.

I think it's very silly to criticize anybody for changing their mind, especially when new evidence or a different perspective is introduced to the subject. That's what being a scientist is all about. That's why it's also very mature of someone to apologize if they realize they were wrong about something. Now the grown up thing to do is to not repeatedly shove it in somebodys face "YOU WERE WRONG! YOU GOT YOUR BUTT HANDED TO YOU!", because that is immensely immature and childish.

Would you seriously want to work with anybody in the real world, who always thought they were right about everything, no matter what evidence or perspective is presented that would show that their opinion was wrong, or inaccurate? Hell no. It would drive you nuts. Because that person would be characterized as a stubborn asshole that refuses to change his mind on anything.

Unless you're the type of person that can't stand even the remote possibility that you have been wrong about a few things in life. This is one of the most vindictive and immature notes I have ever seen. It's really quite sad, but I'm here to set the record straight. It's true this person did buy the clips and by nature of the system in place I cannot re-activate the secure links after a certain timeframe has occured. If I could, I would. That's just the way it is. I empathize with someone who's hard drive crashes, but by the same token we know how important it is to back up data. I've lost files myself over the years and it sucks!

I have helped many users who have had download issues, errors, etc. and made them right as they are typically reported in a short timeframe after an order. I do care about my customers and advise all on this forum not to put stock in this person's comments. This is why I help wherever I can. In fact I was contemplating another solution for this user but before I could even respond with a follow up, he posts this, so now that's off the table. Very disrespectful and lacks class. It appears he has a history of making edgy posts.

For those who continue to do business with me and support my work, I thank you. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be where I am today. I have a responsibility to safeguard my business, models images who work with me and to ensure clips and of course quality content. I'm happy to have kept piracy against me largely at bay and I will not apologize for protecting the images of talent working with me. They have every right not to expect to be on some porn site next to some trashy porn stars. Any great entrepreneur would and should think the same way.

Thank you to CapturedDoll and others who understand. Do not put stock in these exaggerated claims - it's not true nor a reflection of the company as a whole. Those who know me well know this and there are plenty of positive reviews in threads in this section from other customers. If you choose to buy from my company, you won't be disappointed. You will be glad you did as we produce very good quality. Thanks all!

Can you explain this to me? I'm not quite understanding it. When someone buys something from you, does it "unlock" from a link one time and let them download it? I'm not sure how I'm seeing any scenario where you "can't unlock it again", why not just email it to him in a google drive link?

If it's a matter of "I think he'll pass the link around" what would stop anyone from downloading it from you and just popping it on Mediafire or something? Like I'm not understanding how "the secure link" is the one and only chance to get the video, and once it's gone it's gone forever.
 
Comfort, I cant go into details as to how that works other than to say theres a window before I am unable to unlock a purchase for security reasons. If someone shared a file, it is traceable to the specific purchase and I would then take appropriate action against that person for infringement. How thats done I cannot go into detail for obvious reasons.
 
Let me get this straight. You buy several clips from him and save them to your computer which presumably crashes. You email him several days/weeks/months and want him to send you the same clips but get pissed when he cannot do so? You should be pissed that your computer crashed...

I actually purchased from him in the past and whenever I've had an issue he made it right. Good person and company.

We all have to back up that data in today's world! No excuses. I've lost clips that aren't even for sale anymore so I learned the hard way haha. Darth has very good customer service. He's been very helpful when I have had an issue with downloading the files. Again, back up that data via cloud or usb drive. Then back up the back up data! Haha
