I Hate Everything About Zelda: Breath of the Wild

I'm sorry, but I do. I've been a huge Zelda fan my entire life...the series had a dramatic, almost immeasurable influence on me as a kid. Ocarina of Time was the first large-scale game I ever played. And when I look around and see the entire internet caught up in a blazing storm of ecstasy, going on and on about how amazing Breath of the Wild will be, my heart sinks like a rock and I feel like an idiot, because I seem to be the only person on earth who hates everything about it.

It's like they took out every single little joy that made the Zelda series special. I'm all for the games evolving and trying something different, but at this point, Breath of the Wild isn't even a Zelda game. It's an Elder Scrolls game with a Zelda skin on it.

-No permanent weapons or dungeon-specific items...no boomerang, no hookshot, no nothing.
-Link can't find Rupees by cutting grass or breaking pots. One of the most iconic things about the series, but sure, let's just get rid of it.
-Link's main tool throughout the game is a magic iPad. I am seriously perplexed as to why anyone, anywhere is ok with that.
-No fanfare or shot of Link lifting things up excitedly when he finds an item or gains something new.
-No overworld music.
-Ganon is called "Calamity Ganon" like a cowboy, and that's freaking stupid.

Seriously, please tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I can definetly see what you mean. All those things you mentioned really are some solid parts from the Zelda games. Hell I always loved entering a dungeon and trying to guess, what kinda item I'm going to find this time that helps me get through a dungeon.
Still eventho alot of stuff is missing that made the old Zelda games so loveable, I will still give that game a solid chance. I'm always a guy that needs to play a game myself first to get a good opinion about it.

I agree, unfortunately Nintendo seems to have gotten watered down ever since the end of their cartridge days (N64). Not to say I don't like Zelda but really, the cows are being milked for the money lately. Microsoft wasn't impressive with XBONE and Sony looked like they were trying to copy Microsoft but better. so maybe I'm just a Jaded pc gamer now lol.

Played it. My only issue was that items kept on breaking and needed repairing.

I do agree. BotW is one of the worst Zelda games.

I hate to say it, but it would seem Nintendo dropped the ball again with the whole Switch System. Unfortunately for me, it's the only system I have right now.
