Please Don't Do This

Nobody is saying anything remotely like that. You're making bizarre statements, without having seen it, and then arguing with people who have seen it.

You're like an edgy little 15 year old scoffing "Heh, yeah... whatever... I got this shit figured out..." and making no sense. Who the fuck is asking you to "feel sympathy for the community"? You're just blithering nonsense about a thing you have no idea about and it looks like you're preparing to dismiss all the shit you keep posting with "Jokes on you I don't even care".

Lol and that affects you how? I said I don't see the significance of the film despite it's high praise and I've been getting jumped on for summarizing what it's about! So obviously I'm hurting people's feels real bad by saying "why Is this important? Why does nobody see this will happen repeatedly, FOREVER!"? Unfortunately I guess I am the only one who gets that.

Right.....That's why avant-garde isn't a recognized genre of every art form.

There's "by artists, for artists" and there's "by guys that make art for regular party-going jackoffs". DIFFERENCES. EXIST.

I like how you've rationalized people making fun of you going 'HUR HUR DURF'AHUUUUUUUUUUR' by convincing yourself you've actually shaken their worldview and angered them.

Dumbshit, you didn't hurt anyones "feels", you just got literally everything wrong. Every single part. The confidence you have after announcing "Fine, I'll watch it! But I know I'm gonna be right! ;)" after fucking up every part of the argument is amazing.

Differences DO exist! And so do dumbshits! And you're stupid as shit.

If the content of the movie is so drastically different from the summary why is it published? You prove nothing to me that disconnects anything the film is about from the random/rarely published articles in the news about regular sick fucks. But I'm the one who's wit is called into question here? Because I don't waste 90 minutes meticulously studying the same film I read the summary of to satisfy you?

Whatever you say dude. You're clearly too much of a genius to engage in rational conversation with.

Explain to me what you think it is.

Because it's ludicrous to argue the merits, or even the content of a movie when you've only seen a "summary" and can't be bothered to see the actual film.
One would think a self-professed smart guy like yourself, who's been around, who knows the score, who sees the truth of everything that the rest of us fail to, would see the folly in arguing about a movie you haven't even seen, relying on someone else's "summary". What if that someone else is just one more idiot, who doesn't get things like you do?

Explain to me what you think it is.
It's a documentary that centers and glorifies what D'Amato did and really doesn't do much for the victims (If you really want we can discuss how "competitive endurance tickling" offers no details on what makes it competitive, what reward there was for winning or what incentives there were not to lose, what kind of leagues are out there, etc). I consider it a facade because none of it is actually about the community but a lot of what it's detailed about gives us good insight to how people will indirectly make people look at us for the actions that they take, much like the miscellaneous news articles of bedroom intruders I keep recalling in my head.

But wikipedia includes articles on movies so people can have a dialogue without looking at the actual movie, no?

As far as my smarts I think I've admitted an equal amount of times that I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed; we know you're the resident sex-pert around these parts. Really, it's possible for someone to be amazing in some areas and woefully unintelligible in others, I wish people would stop treating the subject of intelligence like it's some course where all aspects have to add up cumulatively. Wolf, I mean this with respect, as smart as we as a human race try to be, we are not intelligent by a long-shot in sum. Therefore, I'm not afraid of looking like an idiot because I've read someone's summation of some film I have (again, reiterating this for the ? time) simply put on the list.

And then get all butt-hurt when someone dares to use words like "creepy".

Butt-hurt? OMG you do not know words!

Now use 'asshat', 'douchenozzle', 'batshit crazy', and 'overused hipster cliches' in a sentence.

Very true! Rather a big thing for a documentary to not explore. Are people going to believe that is a real enterprise? 'Cause it is not a real enterprise. It's like the doc and D'Amato both made their mark based on something pretty fake (but at least the film did document exploitation and bad behavior linked to the fakeness which the fetish audiences and the mainstream audiences seems to have been interested in, despite this facade it all takes place under.)

Wait did you think the entire thing was an elaborate hoax to get attention?

You're obviously offended by someone using the word "creepy", and doubly offended by "butt-hurt".
I try to be sensitive to other people's triggers, so, for future reference, what would be the correct PC (pro-creepy) term to use for creepy behavior, to avoid future butt-hurt?

History tends to repeat itself if not properly addressed. But this is all moron speak. Every letter of it.

What needs to be addressed, and how would you address it?

Well if someone can be lured into a competitive tickling league, maybe they needed information on the first place on how to avoid them so such sour events don't occur to start?

The "competitors" were all adults; you really think they didn't know the wank factor was the actual purpose?
As for D'Amato's tactics, they are well-documented and have been for some time.

There will always be people who attempt to cloak their motives in getting wank material, from guys with fake "OMG I love ticklish guyz!" twitter accounts, to guys who lurk in the park with hidden cameras, to guys who keep pestering their female acquaintances with repeated "innocent and fun" questions about tickling.
D'Amato was just an extreme example of the lengths they will go to to hide their motives and protect whatever persona they've built to conceal them.

nah, this was all innocence. legality does not ensure competency. plus there was no wiki, no master thread, nada.

we have to make the reminders that girls with great pictures aren't actually girls with great pictures. just for precautions sake to protect our men lol.

you're asking what to do about it as if you have no clue

No, I'm saying I'm pretty sure the "competitors" in the movie (that you refuse to watch*) weren't fooled by anything.
As for what to do about it, the producers did it. Sort of the point of the movie.

* And no, I don't care if you watch it or not. Just pointing out that offering your opinions without watching it is flying blind.

where did I refuse? I'm simply posting. it's all a D'Amato circle jerk, really. replace "tickling" with something else and this movie would hardly have relevant ground to us.

You are absolutely right in that last part.
I just feel it's not nearly as relevant to begin with.

it means a lot to people who like decade old news articles about the same guy who roped young guys looking for. ....whatever, to get into strange films.

and yet nobody sees you take away the deception element and you get all the same sort of one-off articles the news makes jackasses of (bed-intruding ticklers) whenever they get the chance.

The only people who place importance all of these one-off stories about tickle freaks preying on the public are people who are pre-disposed to put more importance on them in the first place. The movie didn't do the "community" a disservice. Quite the opposite.

Without yet STILL having seen the movie... (Oh which I will not comment... Because common sense dictates that.)

I think I can safely say that any documentary, or article, blog etc etc that stresses the point about being careful on who you choose to work for in the sex industry is far more important than "If it makes us or ANY group look bad" ... fuck it! If a person is going to judge you based on your tickling fetish- either they weren't going to like it no matter how you presented it... or it was brought about in yes, a creepy fashion. People have a right to know about the pitfalls of the Sex industry. And what dangers might await them if they meet the wrong person. It happens every day, all day in the sex industry. Theres a list a mile long of dead porn stars that could tell you all about that. If they were alive. But plenty still are... and they are telling their stories. Anyone read Jenna Jameson's book? "How To Make Love Like A Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale". It's frightening. This documentary helps peel back some more of that layering of con artists and scum bags. I know this because Ive read tons of reviews and opinions right here on the forum. I will watch it soon. Anyway: Unfortunately the man in question was into Tickling. Its unfortunate.

But at the end of the day it should help people hopefully make smarter decisions. Take more precautions. Do more research etc. I really hope for that!

And: I don't begrudge the fact people would ask a celeb if they're ticklish. I just kinda wish they had the common sense not too. Its invasive. But boundary issues it seems go hand in hand with this fetish. (And probably most any sexual act we can talk about.) There is a huge segment of both the male AND female population who do not understand how inappropriate they are being sometimes. Or how a conversation flows in which to be able to ask personnal questions like this in the first place. All I can say if you do try to ask a celeb... expect to get ignored, or irritatingly told to f off. Thats the reality. And if you can handle that by all means. But remember: its not just you asking that question but possibly hundreds. Thus ensuring... they may NOT be creeped out by this fetish or any... but 10,000 invasive question later... of all varying kinds? They WILL be creeped out by most people in general- thus shutting down. Thus affecting their creativity and life. Worth it? Not to me.

Lady GaGa just did an interview with Howard Stern about some of what she went through back in February - about her friends, fans, and industry folks. Those interested should watch it.
