Please, if everyone could share this around, I'd appreciate it. (Also, in more direct need situation - my wife will be out of medication tomorrow and I have $0.06 to my name. Anything anyone can send to Paypal to help us get her some medication would be amazing. These meds keep her alive and her mother can't afford to help us this week. It's $103 for her medication for a week - but any donation will help us reach that goal, and every $19 gets us 1 day of medication. The more days we can get at one time, the cheaper it will be because there will only be ONE $5 withdrawal fee rather than multiples. Paypal link is at the end of the post.)

My wife and I are trying to get our car (our only means of transportation) repaired, and we really could use all the help we can get. Here's the link to share: https://www.youcaring.com/joshualonaward-808469

And here's the description of our situation - valid links below the text. Thanks again, everyone.

Hello, everyone. My name is Joshua Ward. I'm a transman in my 30s, disabled, and the primary caregiver for my multiple-stroke survivor wife, Lona (pronounced la-na). I'm disabled by chronic spinal problems and pain, as well as related issues, and my only income is as a commission artist - which is rather hit or miss. I do have a Patreon that features lots of different perks as well, however.

For more information on my wife and I and our situation over the last year, please read this page on my website. http://www.tygerwolfe.com/gofundme-faq/

A big part of helping my wife recover from her strokes is being able to get to all doctor's appointments (for both of us) and the freedom to do our own shopping and the like. We do have a car, however, recent circumstances have made it undrivable.

Our car is a 2007 Honda Element. It's a decade old this year, and has about 101,000 miles on it. (It had 54k miles when we bought it in 2012.)

The battery (less than a year old and covered by its AAA warranty), died today, for the second time in three days, and we KNOW nothing was left on. So AAA replaced it.

Keep in mind that prior to this battery issue, the only thing wrong with the car was that the power regulators in both front windows had failed (1 & 2 months ago, respectively), leaving the windows trapped in the doors and forcing us to create makeshift windows out of clear packing tape (see pictures) because the motors can't lift the windows anymore.

This was annoying, but we were putting up with it. We couldn't afford the $300 apiece it would be to fix the windows as my wife's anti-stroke medication (which costs $98 a week + ATM fees) is life-saving and more important. This is where most of the money I get in (I'm disabled and work as a commissioned artist, as I mentioned) goes.

The car started, the new battery was working fine. Then, suddenly, the car made this horrible grinding...farting...noise and started squirting grey steam out from under the passenger side.

My brother-in-law and his boyfriend came out to try and diagnose it. After an hour or so of experimenting, we figured out that it's either a leak in the brake fluid system, or the power steering system. Also, we might have a coolant leak because the reservoir is empty.

I called our mechanic who is a friend of my wife's family. He said he can't give an exact quote without seeing it to diagnose, but if we're right he's estimating about $400 to fix that. And he's willing to fix both windows for another $400 (cheaper than the $600 other places have quoted us for the windows).

The total we need to raise to be sure we can get EVERYTHING the car needs done (this includes an oil change, and replacement of the back brake pads, as well as both window regulators and...whatever is making the car fart grey steam), is about $1000, so that's the goal I'm setting for this fundraiser.

I'm going to negotiate with the mechanic to take a payment plan (he is a friend of the family, as I mentioned) but I still need to raise a few hundred to use as a down payment.

All money that comes in to this fundraiser will be used toward fixing the car. If you want to help us with other expenses - like my wife's medication, and food for us and her emotional support cat, Prince James ( https://www.facebook.com/PJTumblefluff/ ), you can contact me via Patreon ( http://www.patreon.com/tygerwolfe ), or email me at tygerwolfe(at)gmail.com. Or donate via PayPal or Square. Links Below. Thank you again for your help, even if all you can do is share the YouCaring. Every bit helps!
