Storm pounds western Kansas, closes I-70

Stuck in Western Kansas? That stinks out loud Zod. Hope they get I-70 open soon.
 
Zod, you have some bad luck lately. Had you taken the load to Georgia, you'd probably have gotten into the I-85 fiasco. May better trips come your way.

Thanks. Are you talking about the section of I-85 that caught fire?
 
Zod - yeh. Hopefully if you have any trips here in the near future you can avoid the area. The good news is that they are projecting the reconstruction to be done May 26, well ahead of schedule.
 
I am reading about heavy floods in Missouri. I understand that I-55 is closed in places.
 
We just had monster thunderstorms around here last Monday. LOTS of trees and wires down. Some homes were severely damaged. Some folks just got their power back like today.
 
Hey, the climate ain't changing any, tho. These storms are just freaks.....

Corn is currently in the planting cycle so in a roundabout way you are right (if you are implying that it would effect corn).
More people plant wheat since it is too dry for corn (especially with the last few years of drought).
Winter wheat starts around September and is harvested June and July.

I've seen pictures of trucks lined up near the exits of the regional interstate towns.
Kansas has had a real shortage of decent truckstops west of Salina.
Supposedly they are building truckstops in some of those towns.
Kinda defeats the purpose of having the interstate.
