So what’s with all the penetration/tickling videos? I understand if there’s a demand for them. Hey, you gotta go with the market to make it. However, if it’s less about profit/demand and more about trying to (ahem) push it as a new sub-genre of tickling, I’d like to know if the implicit message is that tickling is not a legitimate fetish in its own right---that it must, MUST be an accompaniment to intercourse, relegating it to nothing more than foreplay. For those on this forum who view it that way, that’s perfectly fine, by the way, but some of us view tickling itself as a sexual act that doesn’t require intercourse. I do realize I’m likely part of a small minority, but I’d also like to know if this “is a thing” now, or just my imagination?

I think you're judging a steak dinner by the baked potato.

As I said, even though it's not for me, I'm not saying there's no market/demand. I just want to know why it's been growing in popularity among video producers.

You want someone to explain to you why people like something you don't?

The message I've always received is that this fetish (tickling) is just foreplay. So in other words, getting back to the clip, that's as close as You'll come to "real life" so buy it because it's the hottest.

Where is that message coming from?
Aren't the vast majority of tickle clips the ones not featuring penetration?

From various threads. It's an exciting turn on but one that sours if there's no "finish", right?

Yea, tickling is a niche fetish, with a lot of niche material. It started out that way and has stayed true to what's produced over the years. But like I said, "as close as You'll come to 'real life' ". People like "happy endings" in massages as much as they like them in tickling videos, I guess, so that's why I think it came and never went. Pure tickling videos I think are probably going to get rarer as the industry (of tickling videos) wants to connect more with the mainstream. So handjobs/ruined orgasms have been the norm for a while, with penetration getting featured occasionally, and I think that it'll just get more popular. Hey, it's not like THERE ISN'T a bunch of penetration videos out there right now.

What's your definition of a "pure tickling" video?

Videos from vendors like tickling-post, magic touch, ticklefiend, Frenchtickling, ticklingparadise. ....you know, I guess a lot of the names I mentioned were "classics"? When I think of sexual tickle torture I think more like bleufetish, tickletorture, dungeonmaidens, etc

I'm pretty sure the "pure tickling" market isn't in any danger of being pushed aside.

Why do people give a shit about what other people beat their dick to?

The market doesn't work like that. All we can do is try new things and see if they sell. After all, people are constantly complaining about the lack of innovation in the niche. A producer does one, and then if they do another two or three the implication is that it worked, so all the me-toos jump on the bandwagon and start monkey-see, monkey-doing.

Hell, I did a "sawn in half aftermath" video recently because I know there's a market for it. It's doing pretty well, so I'm going to do another. That doesn't mean I'm trying to "push" anything, I'm just giving people what they want.

The bulk of folks in this community apparently want porn with giggling and baby oil.

I understand if there’s a demand for them.

Funny, because a look at the top 10 studios in C4S looks like most of them primarily do the "pure tickling" people are talking about.

Ftkl's Foot Tickling Fantasies
Tickle Abuse 2
Tickling In Russia
Uk Tickling
Tickle Frenchtickling
Random Sole Encounters
The Tickle Room
Tickling Paradise
Tickle Intensive
The Hard Limit

I'm not seeing a lot of deviation from "the norm".

From the way you keep repeating those two words it sure seems like it.
Why do people give a shit about what other people beat their dick to?
Judgement is a consequence of revealing that you put thought into it.

"Producers" produce. They produce what sells. They don't change their name or categorize a lot because they don't want to affect their brand. Tickle abuse has gotten into the "orgasm" market with their material. As for the rest of your list, no, not a lot of deviation. A couple names a lot of other focal points. Tickling is branching out tho, search in the fetishes bar "tickling" and you see "cock and balls tickling", "handjob tickling", "gay tickling", "bbw tickling", you can't tell me that this isn't happening because it's right there. And like I suggested earlier, there's this subdivision occurring because nobody wants to flood out the normal material but they want to branch into a bunch of other categories for the sake of keeping people interested.

I'm not seeing a lot of deviation from "the norm".

I look at what people favorite and share in the various communities I belong to. While I haven't done a poll or any kind of hard data study, the bulk of what I see people favoriting and passing around is the naked oily stuff. Is that all of it? No, of course not. But it does seem like we go through 'phases' where a certain kind of video is "in", and then there's an ebb and flow. For a while you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting five "naked vibrator tickling" videos. I'd imagine the market got oversaturated and people scaled it back.

You'll also note that most of those studios (with the exception of The Hard Limit) are older studios with an extremely established fanbase, resulting in a "rich get richer" scenario where everybody buys from them because everybody buys from them (which is not a knock against their quality at all, I quite like a lot of them myself).

But yes, much like the OP everything I say is my own observation, with the exception of the conjecture that we're doing it because we think we're some kind of tastemakers pushing an agenda. Tickling videos are expensive to make, relatively speaking; most of us don't have the kind of cash to throw at a total gamble and expect that it'll cause a trend shift in the entire market. I'd wager that there's maybe only two or three studios that even have that kind of pull in the first place.

Thanks to all who provided serious answers to a serious question, as opposed to those who were just dismissive. Not trying to troll or denounce anyone's preferences. I just wondered why the trend SEEMED to be spiking a bit. Yes, fine, many may not see this as a trend. I, personally, have been seeing more of these lately, so it's not a matter of right or wrong, but subjective perspective. I guess the dismissive answers did help answer my question as well, in that it's apparently not a big trend and is likely just me running into a bunch of them lately.

You want someone to explain to you why people like something you don't?

I think that's just basic curiosity. It's not putting down what another person likes, it's just looking for some insight into why they like it.

Except for all the talk about how the "trend" (it's not a trend) carries some kind of "message".
No biggie.

"Trend" may not have been the best word, especially to those who are fans of this tickling style. However, I'm a pretty big follower of clip "styles" and whatnot, going back 25 years, when I was a college student hopping buses to porn shops near airports to find tickling videotapes, pre-Internet. One example I'll offer up is butt/back-of-thigh/inner-thigh tickling, a style I, personally, like, but which you could not find easily 10 years ago.
