I am sure that piracy is hurting the industry. If I went on youtube right now and searched the word "tickle", I would probably see about a dozen clips that have been pirated. Yes, they will be taken down, but not fast enough. I also believe that there is too much competition. There has to be at least 15 different companies that make tickle videos, and with or without piracy, I don't think there is enough demand to support that many compaines. To be honest, I do not know how some of these companies stay in business.

In my opinion, competition is a big factor. When we started on clips4sale we were store 282. Now there are tens of thousands of stores with literally hundreds of tickle fetish producer ranging from small to large. There are a lot of choices out there that are competing for customer dollars. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it's just another thing that draws away potential customers who have a limited amount of "fun money".

Drugs keep porn afloat. Especially niche entertainment. It's why the law isn't involved. It's why most don't want the law involved with copyright infringement. How nobody notices particular models/actresses being high on film is amazing. I mean, c'mon... you'd have to be on drugs to consider what's happening in most video footage to be tickling.

I do not know much about commerce, but I do not think competition is a determining factor. There are indeed lots of studios out there producing lots of content, but the clientele is not evenly distributed among them. People who like your studio for example do not necessarily buy from others, because the clips are very different in style. There is a world between FTKL and Czech Tickling for instance. And as for myself, I am not even aware of the existence of 90% of the studios out there; I add a new store to my list of regulars maybe once per year tops.

While your own personal preferences may be different, as a general rule, customers have multiple stores they frequent. While Czech and FTKL have very different content they are still tickling. Also, there are a lot more producers who are more alike than FTKL and Czech are not alike, which makes discriminating more complicated. Most tickling fans like multiple producer's content (often several producers) and that number grows as new producers set up tent. Most customers only have so many dollars to spend on fun time. When it was just a handful of producers, customers only had a handful of choices. Now, they have many, but still a limited amount of cash. They are forced to choose. Do I buy an FTKl vid or Czech vid? Oh wait, LGZ just did a story one. Now it's three. Maybe he'll buy one from all three, but what about TA. He likes TA, but he can't afford four at once. Producers are competing for a limited pool of customer dollars and the number of producers continues to grow.

Oh I see. In this light, it does make sense. I am old enough to remember a time when I knew Realtickling's entire DVD catalogue; now I could not even tell my favorite studio's top five sellers.

Yes and I'll show my age. I remember Cal Star Tickling and Prestige Student Fetish videos and that was it in the late 80's and early 90's. I would rent bondage vids in hopes of finding tickling scenes. Then came Harmony Tickling and FM Concepts and then the explosion of tickling producers began in the mid to late 90's and the rest is history.

There is one user here, he is a specialist of this kind of "historical posts". I forgot if it is Myriads or Morandilas, or maybe MTP Jeff, but in any case they always made for a fantastic read.

Talking about CalStar, can you believe that troll of a company is still active? I can see them in the ads at the top :blaugh:

Yeah, I don't know if they make new tickling content, but I do know that they still ask $50 for their vids and some are in 320X240 resolution.

Maybe I’ll express for once about this whole cancer of the digital age:

By context, nothing is free in this world. What you take, you pay with your footprints and tracks... It's all cause and effect in anything we do. We all pay a high or cheap price for what we do. A petty example: why does it make you frantic when your PC crashed and you are helpless to do anything to hide your "collections"? Unless you toiled a bit and made yourself an I.T. guy (or marry one - like what I did) to protect yourself in the digital jungle -- You still did not get it for free! Someone or a circumstance will surely cause a friction about your past actions at one point or another... or NOT. To be honest, it doesn't matter now, even if we still care or don’t. In the end it will all die. But we (those who agree with me) are here to enjoy what we currently enjoy to show, with our limited capacity that pales in comparison with the holly-effing-wood or marvel. Despite the piracy and the whole goddamn business crumbling into pieces, as others may think, we made a sick history (sick that in a way it made us grin while producing as a hobby for what its worth ) and YOU are very much a part of the madness. We made your mind happy in silence. One day we will all be gone and (maybe or not) die a harsh death because of creative tickling kink. No one would get out alive anyway as Mark Twain assured us.

Oh, on the brighter side... I'd like to express my voluptuous gratitude to those who still patronize my art/comic stuff until now! The past MTJ spotlight sale did quite well. Supporters are still out there! We are still here until we're done. :justlips: :D

Yup! Same shameless ones! :blaugh:

Wow, that is an awesome post! You've summed up quite beautifully what it means to be a creator (regardless of content) in this day and age. And a life lesson that many should ponder, while the Silicon Valley are trying their best to make our species immortal: nothing comes for free and nothing lasts forever. I can already imagine the archaeologists of the future scratching their heads over the possible interpretations of Bohemianne comics, when they explore my laptop :D

Sorry I just couldn't help noticing that. Lucky you! Me, I married a Chinese: it will be tremendously helpful when they finally conquer the world

Let me start off by saying I never got into this to make big money. My realistic goal was to have fun with like minded people, make a little extra money to go out, pay a bill or two and buy some video games.

I just posted about piracy a week ago, and I thought I’d finally chime in because a lot of people are talking about it. The reason I changed to a subscription model isn’t to kill piracy. Piracy is never going to go away and I accepted that when I started. It’s on me to do my best to make it harder for my content to get pirated. But even then, it’s going to end up on pornhub and youtube somehow.

The reason I moved to a subscription model is because I feel I need to adjust to the times. Buying clips that are $1 is outdated in my eyes, and I think it’s unfair to the people who enjoy my content, but can’t afford to buy the clips they want to see. There are people on the fence who may want to support and can’t afford to buy every clip. But they can justify paying $15/month to get access or to even show some love. Movies, music, books, TV and even the programs I use are all subscription. Those are the times we live in now. There will be losers out there who will buy a membership and try to rip every video off of my site and post them on tube sites, but there are some real, loyal, stand up people in this community that can justify the cost of a subscription knowing that they get access to everything I’ve made for $15/month (3 cups of Starbucks coffee) that will kind of balance it out a bit.

With the new model, I think I should change and work harder as a producer and being more than a dude that just posts clips. I should have live streams, be more active on social media/forums, Q & A sessions with models, exclusive content on snapchat, sell merch from the models, make posters, special edition blu-rays or DVDs just to change it up a bit. It’s a way to generate money outside of the subscription and be more creative and engaging.

I applaud the great producers who can thrive doing it the way it’s been done since the internet became a thing. I’m not an all-time great. So in order for me to make the money I was before, I feel I have to change to a more up-to-date model.

71 dollars of doing a little bit more...

"I picked a hell of a day to quit drinking!"

Bought a few clips from Tickle Abuse. The more I think about it, the more I realize piracy is hurtful. Going on youtube and searching 'feet tickled' will often return a very good 9 minute clip. That's not a good find, that's enjoying stolen goods, so to speak.

Pricing.... pricing.... when 30 minutes tickle clip is 30 dollars, you are out resourcing your clients. I know it cost alot for models and all but the tRuth is the entire industry needs to be revamped. In a world where a large majority of people makec10 dollars or less and hour.. asking them to work 3 to 4 hours justo to buy a clip is very high. Nowe I agree that priracy is awfull. The industry though has to consider though that it's pricing of material is way to high on the consumer.

A buck a minute is actually pretty damn cheap. and there are a lot of studios that produce clips for under $10.
Do you think lowering their prices (even further) will do anything to combat piracy?

No. For almost every producer, the cost of $1 a minute is the most reasonable amount we can charge and make our money back and hopefully start seeing profit. For many of us, we are trying to make a living or partial living or at the very least break even on the cost. When you say the majority of customers are making $10 an hour, a majority of the producers are in that same economic boat. Producers are not making money hand over fist. We are not Walmart buying products manufactured for 25 cents in China and marking it up 1,000 percent.

If we lower the cost to 75 or even 50 cents a minute, we will see some increase in traffic, but that is offset by a diminish in 25-50% revenue which means we have to get more sales to recoup the money spent on the video. Also, most producers use clips4sale, which takes 40% of a clip's sale. So a producer only gets 60 cents of that $1. If you are able to get an adult merchant account, the percentage is smaller, but still higher than an average merchant account because banks view any adult digital content as high risk for fraud.

Tickling is a specialty market. Much like comic books, it has high prices because it is supported by a small group. If more people bought tickling videos (or comics as it used to be 50-75 years ago) you could make the argument that prices wouldn't need to be so high and that producers were simply gouging customers. That is not the case now.

Let's keep it on topic folks. Cut the cheep shots, or this toy will be locked.

Well yeah, but then don't cry "Waaaah, where's the real tickling! Why can't I find good videos anymore?! Waaaaah".

Nice insight into your mind there. Who the fuck pays for porn anyway? You'd have to be a sap, it's everywhere for free.
