It could be cool uf someone understans what the girls says before seing the other tickled..;)
 
Interesting, so they really did use tickling as a punishment in ancient China, after all. Shame she was offscreen for most part of the video, but the laughter was nice regardless.

Yeahh it would be nice to know what they were saying. Seemed like there was some interesting dialogue after they stopped.
 
The episode is nice, though this type of torture or punishment has never been officially recorded in China. The short dialogue before the actual scene is the brief explanation of what the “Laughter punishment” actually means. The boy says, it is far worse than flogging, since the latter merely hurts the skin, while the “Laughter punishment” inflicts unbearable sufferings on a person. The dialogue after the torture has been stopped is just an attempt to convince the official to relieve the girl (the main character here appeals to the authority of the court lady in whose retinue she officially consists).

The full episode is called (in English) Fan Girl, episode 9.

Or, Fan Lady, episode 9. Either way, the entire series is available on Yuko but I haven't found any English subtitles so far.

From an English language article intro: "The large-scale Republic of China TV series "Fan Niang", which was filmed by Hairun Film and Television Production Company, is being filmed nonstop."

I just found a full episode from a different source, with other episodes to watch. Here's the link. Translate it and the tickling is in episode 9...

In English, a piece describing that scene says... "The imperial concubine let Han Xue be a reminder of Yufanfang. On the way to Yufanfang, Hanxue heard strange laughter. After inquiring, she knew that the palace girl was being punished with a laugh, so she broke in and talked with her father-in-law. After a battle, finally saved the palace Female autumn hi."

I'll keep looking, but if anyone can find a video of this with English subtitles or even a transcript, I'd appreciate it greatly. That, or at least an HD version of it. I used this Chinese text to find all the links about this show 扇娘.

I'm very taken by this scene, even though the tickling isn't shown. Mostly because she appears very painfully ticklish as her hysterical laughter echos throughout the whole place. I also like how this scene has a serious tone to it, while most mainstream tickling scenes in fiction are portrayed as comical. Tickle torture seems to be serious business here as that poor palace girl was so exhausted from it that she needed help walking over to another room to sit down.
