Below is a list of eleven quotes from baseball players (or managers who were once players), numbered 1 to 11.
Also there is a list of 15 names, lettered A. to O.
Each quote was from a different name on the list; four names on the list did not make any of these statements.
I did not use any of Yogi Bera's quotes; they are too well known.
See if you can correct assign each quotation to the person who said it.
1. You don't save a pitcher for tomorrow. Tomorrow it may rain.
2. If you win 20 games they want you to do it every year.
3. The two most important things in life are good friends and a strong bullpen.
4. Baseball is like church. Many attend but few understand.
5. Baseball is like a poker game. Nobody wants to quit when he is losing; nobody wants you to quit when you're ahead.
6. Fans don't boo nobodies.
7. I'm throwing twice as hard as I once did. It's just not getting there as fast.
8. All ballplayers should quit when it starts to feel as if all the baselines run uphill.
9. You gotta be a man to play baseball for a living, but you gotta have a lot of little boy in you.
10. The greatest thrill in the world is to end the game with a home run and watch everybody else walk off the field while you're running the bases on air.
11. The game has a cleanness. If you do a good job, the numbers say so. You don't have to ask anyone or play politics. You don't have to wait for the reviews.
A. Reggie Jackson
B. Lefty Gomez
C. Duke Snider
D. Babe Ruth
E. Billy Loes
F. Willie Mays
G. Sandy Koufax
