How do you prefer to be approached on TMF?

I've wondered that too. The transition to tickling always feels a little awkward and forced, but I guess due to the nature of the site, they expect it.

I like being approached like a human and not feel like the person is using me to pop a boner.

I'd suggest getting to know some people first. Otherwise, it's like asking for a hand job when you're speed dating.
