Surveillance video caught a man changing road signs to make his commute easier, reports the BBC.

The 28-year-old Chinese man was seen painting new arrows onto the road to redirect traffic in his favor.

"I saw that the straight lane was always packed with cars, while the lane that turns left has a lot of space," he told police. "I thought changing the signs would make my commute smoother."

The man was fined 1,000 yuan ($151).
