www.weather.com.

The good old.

"Winter Storm Watch"

Has been issued for NYC for Tuesday night into Wednesday, for supposedly up to 12 inches of snow.

Last week, as those who followed are aware, we had a very heavy rain storm, with high winds and driving rain.

This time, they are predicting some rain at first, changing to what will be a heavy snow.

With it only being the first week of March, we know this can happen.

We should know better by tomorrow what will happen.

Here we go!

Take heart, Mitch - spring is 15 days away......

What I wouldn't give for me and my waifu to be able to retire to some tropical island community.

It is going to snow a few inches here, sorry to here about your upcoming troubles in New York.

The new forecast on www.weather.com

says

"Winter Storm Warning" for 6 to 12 inches of snow.

It's going to be very bad.

Thanks, carl.

www.weather.com.

They just lowered the expected snow totals from 6 to 12 inches, to 4 to 8 inches.

With NYC being near the coast, and temps near freezing, it could well be rain, or a mix, for a period of time.

I've noticed, that when they "hype the storm totals up"

It often turns out to be much less than they say.

Something is falling outside, but it's hard to see if it is rain.. or a mix.

WABC TV in NY says over a "half of a foot" (Their words) in the city.

One forecast on www.weather .com says anywhere from 6 to 12 inches where I am, giving themselves room for varying totals.

The heavy snow is supposed to be mostly this afternoon.

We'll see as to what actually falls. I'm still not convinced.

The snowfall totals expected have been greatly increased.

The latest forecast on www.weather.com says that:

"8 to 12 inches are expected in NYC".

Right now, it looks like a wintry mix, that is not even sticking to the ground.

The precip is expected to turn to all snow, and be heavy this afternoon

8 to 12 inches is definitely a formidable storm.

In places outside the city, 12 to 18 inches is forecast.

I’m in the 12- 18 range. I’m really pissed at my past self for not picking up a snowblower when he had the chance!

The final snowfall forecast where I live says. "7 to 11 inches".

It's difficult to see what is actually falling outside the window.

The storm seems to be almost over.

The roads look wet, and cars are moving along.

The final total seems to be about what they had said after the snow totals were increased.

I just saw the snow totals for NYC on

www.abc7ny.com

Apparently, this storm was "hyped up".

The actual totals in Queens, where I live, were anywhere between 1 and 4 inches.

Long Island, which is east of me, got a bit more than that.

The largest totals, were in Orange County, NY, much further upstate.

I think the snow totals were kept down for two reasons.

One, the storm moved a bit further east than originally expected.

Two, there was more of a mix of sleet, rain, snow than originally forecast, and the mixed precip kept the snow totals down.

We didn't get any snow that laid on the ground, but Philadelphia Airport was a mess.

I went out today.

There is not much snow around, as we only got a few inches here, by official report.

The streets are very slushy, and have some snow around.

^We had no laying snow in our area, but parts of eastern Pennsylvania got hammered.^

Vegeta: Well, that was more disappointing than the Planet Hot Springs.

Nappa: Yup.

Vegeta: It was inhabited by giant ANTS and there wasn't ANY WATER on the PLANET! WHY WAS IT CALLED THAT?

I've heard the news reports....are the glaciers advancing???? Seriously, you guys in the northeast got hammered twice, in about a week's time. I know we down south here get made fun of when an inch of snow shuts us down. What you guys/gals are dealing with up there...dang. Hang in there, things will get better, spring is coming (just not fast enough).

Now they are saying "Potential Winter Storm" on Monday. They are not certain exactly what is coming, and what form the precip will be in
