Bucket List/Things to do Before You Die

Hello, hello.

Was wondering if anybody had any “bucket list”/”things to do before you die” sort of ambitions. I don’t mean mundane stuff like get a promotion, move to a nicer part of town etc. Nor, in the case of the latter, write a will, make sure funeral costs are taken care of lol. I’m talking more: swim with dolphins; visit one of the 7 wonders of the world; make love to a laconic Vietnamese parking attendant – that sort of thing.

Maybe you’ve actually done one or two of the things that tend to crop up on such lists…? If so, how was the experience? Did it live up to expectation?

For me, there's probably only 2 things I know are economically feasible for a man of my standing and likely future trajectory and 1 that's about as likely as winning back-to-back lotteries.
Swim with manatees down in Florida. I've loved manatees since I was a chubby kid who was just a gentle giant and for most of my life it's been illegal to interact with them outside of VIP aquarium settings.
Go on an eco-safari in the Amazon Rainforest. I used to work in tropical medicine and after seeing pretty much the worst kind of trauma that endemic poverty and parasitic diseases can inflict on a human being I want to go and see the beauty left in the world and seek out some inspiration to pick up the fight again.
And, in the event that I'm inconceivably lucky, walk on the moon.

Maybe come up with a bucket list...... Actually, I collect minerals (rocks to most of you). I'd like to do some collecting trips in the western U.S.; unfortunately, unlikely as the EPA has been closing and "cleaning up" most of the old mines out west. It's a bit complicated to explain, but, likely a wish that won't happen. Now, walk on the Moon, or Mars..... interesting, but I be a bit too old.

My two would be to do a driving experience day at Brands Hatch racetrack here in the UK, and to see a live NHL game!

I almost fulfilled #1 on my bucket list last year: To be in Dodger Stadium when the Dodgers win the World Series.
I was there to see them win game six.
I was there and saw them lose game seven.

Note: If you are wondering when was the last time that the Dodger won the World Series with a home game, it was back in 1963.

I want to:

- Dramatically flip a table in the middle of an important meeting or something.
- Play a dead body in some kind of crime show.
- To see the northern lights up close.
- Have a Wikipedia page about myself.

Didn't even know there was such a thing as an "eco-safari." Sounds good though.

Speaking for myself, I wouldn't say I have any burning ambitions where this stuff is concerned, particularly. Seeing a great white shark in its natural habitat would be a bit of a thrill. Though whether I'd be brave enough to get in one of those cages that they lower into the water is another matter lol. Especially having seen one or two videos where the cage has been shown to be less than shark-proof lol. Pretty terrifying.
