anything going on?

looks to me like the last time there was any kind of munch or meetup for ticklephiles around the bay area was almost a year ago...

anyone know of something similar coming up?

i’d also be happy to help other people with organizing a new event if that’s in the cards, i just have no idea how to go about the end of it that involves procuring a space and stuff but i’m pretty great with organization, social media, and event coordination if any local folks would like assistance!

If you're just doing a munch, finding a place that everyone can get to is a concern - I picked somewhere off the millbrae bart station because both bart and caltrain go there. You might also try seeing where folks on https://www.erobay.com/calendar are meeting and booking the same space on an alternate night.


If you want to do a gathering with actual play, you could meet at someone's place, you could rent a hotel room, you could try to organize something at one of the bay area play spaces, either "everyone meet here at this time" or try to do a specific party.

What has typically happened around here in the past is meeting at someone's house/apartment or renting a hotel room, I haven't heard of anyone holding an event at the SF citadel for example.

You should probably give at least a months notice.

To me gender balance (since this tends to be mostly a het and not gay crowd) is the biggest problem - I think at the last munch I may have been the only woman there, which is not a super fun gender ratio.

I kind of think that the TMF is probably a bad place to attract women for these events, my guess is the ads etc. on TMF mean there are women into tickling that nope out because it just looks like a porn site. Fetlife may be a better place to get RSVPs unless someone knows of somewhere better these days. Personally I would be more interested in holding events if I could get other women to show up.

I just got back from the marvelous NEST gathering for ticklephiles held on the east coast, and am feeling the desire to have more of a west coast scene again. I would like to organize a tickling munch for the weekend of June 8-9 (Saturday or Sunday), which I hope will be the first of a series at different spots in northern california. This is for all genders and orientations.

I think the first one should be in a central part of the bay area (sf, peninsula, or oakland). I'm thinking it would be just a munch, but people could organize to play afterward at a local club if they like. Longer term, I have a cabin in sonoma county that I think would be a good gathering spot, but I think we need a core group with good gender balance before that will be viable. Out of these munches, I am hoping, will come some women who are willing to co-organize this with me.

For now, please reply here, or by DM to me, if you are interested. Let me know which of the two days (Saturday or Sunday, June 8 or 9) you could make, and what times would work best for you. And if you have a suggested location, share that too. The last bay area munch I know of was in Millbrae, near the Caltrain/BART intermodal station.
