What the hell would a "mainstream" tickle fetish even look like?

I've been reading the decades long argument about how to (or should you) try to make tickling a "mainstream" thing, and it occurred to me I don't think I've ever seen anyone explicitly describe what the hell a "mainstream fetish" would actually look or be treated like. Like as a "fetish" it would need to be an abnormality to some extent anyway, wouldn't it? Is it the idea that the majority of people might get off on tickling if they knew what it was? Or like there would be "50 Shades of Tied My Wife to the Couch And Tickled Her For An Hour and a Half" books? For as ever present this idea actually is, I don't think I've ever seen it elaborated on. Explain it to me.

Note plz lets not just have 90 replies ramble on about how people shouldn't attempt to make their kink "mainstream", I'm curious as to their hypothetical idea of such a thing, not the realistic chance of it actually happening.

I'm not sure exactly what your question is about, because personally i've never labeled tickling in any particular way , I just go out and enjoy lol.

In theory though, I think the people hoping for tickling to become mainstream are looking for a similar event like where a celeb like Sasha grey transitioned from Porn to acting

I think that what people mean is for it to be something that is recognized as being symbolic of sex and kink and fun.

In the same way that when people want to show that they're a little naughty, they might give someone a smack on the butt or bite their toe - I think the reasoning goes, you'd see more mainstream tickling, and tickling between celebrities if it was acknowledged as a fun, accessible kink.

I think it's an entirely relevant question because many of us have gone through life in the shadows and have, at some point, wished/wondered what it would be like if we could be open with our fetish, or if society were as into it as we are. First, in my own circumstances, I can never see a day when I would feel comfortable talking about it openly or casually. Even if society could shake the stigma, I could not. That ship has sailed. I'm one of those who can't even utter "tickle" or even "feet" easily. In the broader picture, we've seen a bit of a test case with this "50 Shades of Gray" thing the past few years. Look at all the jokes that the movies in particular have elicited, and this is just "regular" bondage/S&M, so just think of what they would do with subsets like tickling and feet.
