I love this story and her take on it. It's funny how the Internet is affecting the way we perceive ourselves, and the image we give to others. How it also brings under the spotlight multiple fetishes that in other times would have been buried. There's enough material in there for a thesis, I think.
 
As far as I'm concerned, foot fetishism is all but mainstream at this point, and anyone who tells you otherwise (like the publisher of this video, apparently) isn't worth your time. Maybe that's just because I'm based in LA, but, on the other hand, so is the publisher of this video, so that's no excuse for them. On the other other hand, they are Buzzfeed, so I guess the joke's on me for even bothering to point out that they're not worth anybody's time.

We always should remind ourselves that "vanilla" people are under no obligation to understand our fetish. With that said, she was relatively decent about it. The shudder in her voice about "fetish people" was the closest to contempt, but to be fair, our representations in pop culture and the news are as creepers and criminals, and until that changes, muggles will avoid us. I also don't blame Buzzfeed for the tone, as they are first and foremost a comedic site, where they make fun of everyday things, like dating-and-relationship conventions, and "weird" things, like this. It's sort of like a standup-comedian or "morning zoo" radio-show sensibility, really. As someone said, though, we indeed are more out of the shadows these days, as the wikifeet thing indicates. As far as the LA aspect, even though much foot/tickling porn comes out of the Valley area, over the past 20-plus years reading personals and classifieds nationwide, Southern California doesn’t seem to be that friendly to our fetish beyond the porn-production level. Maybe others who have lived there a long time can shed more light on the climate there.

There really isn't much of a story here....I'd have to think that there's gotta be something more ....triggering for foot fetishes other than just being weird. If you go to her page, people are still under the illusion that she likes any attention given!

Then again, I look for shit on instagram too, so who knows. But she could always wear camouflaging footwear which from what she's shown, she gives two shits about doing, in order to redirect the masses. Social media in general thrives off the "media" aspect, and if her wikifeet is any indication, she's not really putting them away.

Because the video sounds irrational, weird, and generally whiny; people that put a magnifying lens over their awkward issues generally garners more views just to see what they're talking about. I mean, the narrative of "I don't know what happened, all I did was get myself tickled on camera and my feet were exposed" kind of says it all. If anything, she's butt-hurt and inflicting her own self-imposed agony by not really taking any action on what gets her more popular, and yet encouraging people to repeat their offense by discouraging them.

Indeed, it was unfortunate that she had to deal with these fetish-trophy hunters, but I don't like to judge subgroups of our fetish, lest our own peccadilloes by judged. I'm not into socks and shoes, but I can't really condemn those who do, as long as they pursue their needs consensually. legally, with adults, etc.

I don't believe I recommended anything even remotely like that, and I can't speak to other people's suggestions.
But we can all agree it was a waste of time, right?
 
Honestly, I've always believed that women knew that there are guys out there that are attracted to feet. What catches them off guard is the extreme or obsessive nature that some have, especially coming across sites like Wikifeet or stumbling across some pathetic losers that have a fetish for being dominated by women constantly referring to them as goddesses. I've tickled pretty much all the feet of my female friends I've known, even sniffed the insides of their shoes and they would be playful even asking what it smelled like wondering if their feet smelled.
