Anyone else watching today? Or anyone attending live? I’ve been to Takeover Phoenix, Royal Rumble and Fastlane this year so far.

I refuse to watch WWE anymore. While I love wrestling, I hate what Vince and his company are doing to the Wrestlers.

I did. I have to say though the quality of the wrestling matches isn't as good as it was during the Attiude era. Bryan and Kofi was an excellent quality match. One thing bothered me though - a female triple threat to main event? Terrible.

What Vince is doing to his wrestlers? Seems to me that they are doing pretty good.

I beg to differ with the match quality being better in the attitude era versus the attitude era had wrestlers with more charisma and knew how to get over. Today the talent is better, matches are better but the mic work, and characters suck.

I agree with you on character development for sure - good point.

Regarding match quality, we will have to agree to disagree. More of the moves executed now dont look as clean. Even Triple H has watered down his pedigree execution to where it looks so fake, its horrible. 8 years ago or so it looked lugitimate.

Hope this helps educate you on how badly Vince and his company are treating their Wrestlers:

That video is biased so I only give it marginal stock. This is business, not habitat humanity. It's a wise move from Vince's standpoint. Wrestlers should be using some of their contractual monies for related health, retirement, etc. Health care benefits would be nice though.

Is it profitable for Vince to not spend any money on his Wrestler's health? Yes, yes it is. Is it ethical or moral? Not in the slightest. Vince is using his wrestlers like toilet paper and then hoping they die before well before they'll collect their pensions. This is why we have unions and the government. To protect us from corporate billionaire and millionaire predators like Vince.

This is a business model built on independent contractors - it's a totally different dynamic. While I do think Vince can probably offer health insurance options to his talent and educate them on sound financial management for retirement, the contractors are responsible for their own well being (financial and otherwise). They know what they are signing up for when they agree to it. It's no different structure wise from other 1099-based professions except this carries a higher degree of physical risk. Vince can choose to do more, but he certainly doesn't have to. We're a capitalistic society, not socialist. It's clear we're on opposite sides of the spectrum and this is getting way off topic from the thread, so back to the point...

Did anyone else watch Wrestlemania 35? Thoughts ?

All it took was watching 30 seconds of Bray Wyatt becoming Pee Wee Herman and my remote turned away WWE to never return again.

Good point. Wrestling today is not nearly as good as it was during the mid 90's to 2010 era. Now it's too PG-13.
