Rest in Peace Tyler Skaggs

I am not an Los Angeles Angels fan, but tragic news has just happened. Angels Pitchers Tyler Skaggs has passed away. My condolences to his family. This is developing story. The URL below is from www.tmz.com

What a way to honor a fallen teammate!! Even if it was a somber atmosphere.

Tonight, in the Angels first home game since Tyler Skaggs death, they were facing the Seattle Mariners. All of the Angels backs adorned Skaggs' name and number (45). Two pitchers and the Angels team went out and no hit the Mariners. In fact it was mentioned that, save for a walk in the 5th, it would have been a perfect game (27 up and 27 down). After the final out, the entire team gathered at the mound took off their Skaggs' jerseys and placed them on the mound. Perfect tribute in every sense of the word. Wow, just WOW!

In the post-game interview, Mike Trout was asked about the teams' efforts, and specifically his night at the plate: In 4 trips to the plate, he had three hits, scored two runs and drove in 6.

The Angels scored 7 runs in the first inning. The final score of the no-hitter was 13-0. The "can't make this stuff up" part of the story- July 13th (7-13) would have been Tyler Skaggs 28th birthday. Plus, the date of the last combined no-hitter (more than one pitcher) was thrown in the state of California? 7/13/91, the day Skaggs was born!

By the way, the night started out by Skaggs mom, a softball coach, throwing out the first pitch- a perfect strike FROM THE MOUND. It wasn't hard to see where Tyler got his arm from.

I guess this was all meant to be, it's just sad the circumstances surrounding it all. Prayers to his family and the Angels' organization.
