Hope everyone is well and taking care.

Bit of a computer question.

I was doing something on the computer before.

As I was taking care of it, I hit a button, and the bottom task bar on the computer where the icons are suddenly got large, and cover certain things. I can still work, type email, see things, etc, but I've been trying to put it back to the smaller size that it was before this happened, and it does not seem to be doing so.

I'm not very "tech savvy" so to speak.

If anyone has any ideas /advice of what I might/could do to correct this, I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

What operating system are you using?

Is it the taskbar itself that got larger, meaning it now covers more of your screen? Or is it that the buttons themselves got larger?

Jeff, I'm sorry. I don't exactly know what you mean by Operating System. Do you mean Windows or something else?

What I mean is, the bottom taskbar, with all the icons, like IE, Goggle Chrome, etc, used to be much smaller, and now it covers a much larger portion of my screen at the bottom. I can still work with it, but its.. annoying.

Any advice you might have would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Okay, thanks.

This computer is from 2015, so it could be an earlier OS than that

Yes, this. Is it Windows, or something else?

If it's windows, to change the size of the taskbar you can click and drag it. Hover your mouse over the edge of the taskbar until you see arrows appear. Then click the taskbar and drag it back towards the bottom of your monitor.

I think it is Windows.

Thanks for the advice. I will try it. Hopefully it works/

Hovering the mouse over the end of the task bar will display an icon that looks like a line with two arrow heads on either side. Clicking when the icon is like this will let you drag the task bar, resizing it. You can right click the task bar and click "lock all taskbars" to prevent this from happening again. Note that the icon may not appear if "lock all taskbars" is already checked.

Let me know if that doesn't help.

No dice, but thanks for the input.

I'm also working with a semi functioning mouse.

The other day, I went to Target and tried to get a new mouse, When I got it home, the new one did not seem to work either.

I'll keep playing around with this and try to figure it out.

A lot has been going on this morning that I'm best off posting in my blog.

However, in regard to the topic of this thread.

I've been so distracted with other things this morning even while I've been online, that I did not notice until now, that the problem I was having with this situation posted in this thread, about the toolbar, has gone completely back to normal.

My guess, one of the overnight "Windows Updates " caused the problem in the first place. There must have been another update last night/this morning. Now as I look, the taskbar on the bottom with all the icons, is absolutely normal, and the way it's supposed to be.

Hopefully it will stay this way
