What musical talents do you have? What instruments do you play and what’s your go to gear/brands? Who are your inspirations?

I’ll start us off:

I play guitar and piano.
Mainly acoustic guitar have a Taylor and Martin. I have a Casio electric keyboard and a baby grand K. Kawai.
I draw many influences from singer song writers (in love with Gregory Alan Isakov right now) to classic rock, country, soul, and pop.

What musical talents do you have?

Drumming, guitar playing, can get by on bass and keyboards, songwriting, arranging, singing, harmony singing, production, etc..

What instruments do you play and what’s your go to gear/brands?

Ludwig drums, Zildjian cymbals, I have a Strat, though I love playing Telecasters. I also have two Yamaha acoustics that I love.

Who are your inspirations?

The history of music!

I play violin & harmonica, & a little piano. I also sing & have some composition experience. Leonard Cohen is by far my main musical inspiration. My favorite music group, however, is a little-known British folk rock band called Oysterband. Other inspirations I'd have to list include June Tabor, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger (I grew up listening to a LOT of old Seeger & other unionist songs), Procol Harum & Steve Earle.

I don't have any training whatsoever but I like playing drums. Want to learn to play guitar. I like to sing too.

Sure I'll throw myself in here!

I'm a guitarist, I've been playing for 15 years and I'm nowhere near as good as you'd expect me to be after 15 years haha! I own a number of guitars but the two I use most frequently are a Fender American Telecaster and a Gibson Les Paul '56 Goldtop reissue, that one really purrs when she gets going!

Musically I play mainly classic rock, huuuuuge Beatles fan! If I had to pick one guitarist who my style resembles it'd have to be John Fogerty. Although recently I've started learning a lot of Eagles songs as Joe Walsh is one of my guitar heroes.

What musical talents do you have?
I can play the drums

What instruments do you play and what’s your go to gear/brands?
Tama kit with Ludwig snare, Sabian / Paiste cymbals

Who are your inspirations?
Dave Grohl
Stewart Copeland
Mike Bordin

I can play some piano, sing, and songwrite. I really want to learn guitar also.
I'm also trying to get back into production after 4 years.

I currently have this cheap keyboard, but plan on getting a Yamaha keyboard sometime. Not sure what kind of guitar I want.

I have a lot of inspirations to list, so I'll just say that most of them are multi-instrumentalists or guitarists.

For the Hummers?

The Kazoo is an unexpectedly complex instrument, often taking decades to fully master. (I'm still classified as a "Buzzkill...")
Choosing the right variation may take significant time and in-depth research, see the instructional video below.
Inspirations include the Air Horn, Whoopee Cushion & Holey Rubber Chicken.

And then there is that centuries-old question, metal or plastic? A simple Google search will reveal:
"If you're playing around in a broad harmonic range, plastic will have your back on the lower tones, while metal can handle the rest."

But really... Nothing Compares to a heavy metal Kazoo...

I've got a few guitars, some harmonicas, a tin whistle, and I think a uke somewhere around here.

As the adorable David Hyde Pierce noted on a late night talk show long ago, "we are all organists."

Me, and I'm good. I've been playing in bands since I was 13 and no one has ever cut me. Many have tried and many have failed.

I missed this when first posted.

I am a pianist (casual, hobby) and trombonist (freelance/second income) and mostly play with pit orchestras in theatres for musicals.
I play for around 6/7 shows a year and generally many of the musicians are the same for several of the shows, so it's a real second family and it's been tough not seeing them this year or getting to work with all the singers/actors/stage workers etc

Inspiration wise, I am bit unusual in that I never really got inspired by musicians - I couldn't even name many professional trombonists - I just played because I could and was reasonably good at it. I suppose, if I was a composer or lyricist, I'd have (and probably need) more influences.
In a way, the venues I play at and the people I'm with inspire me to play well for them.

I get inspired by the team effort - what I love about playing for live theatre is that it's different every night and you have to respond to the cast and they have to respond to you. It's almost two live performances going on at once and they are in dialogue, complimenting each other. I enjoy that more than a formulaic performance of an orchestral score.
My favourite shows to play for are Oliver, Sister Act, Legally Blonde and Oklahoma.

Gear / Equipment - I'm unusual again... I just don't find it that interesting.. my fellow brass players will talk about their mouthpiece size, manufacturer, dimensions/materials and what model trumpet/trombone they use, which size mute they use... I'm afraid I just settle for what I have and play it.
Perhaps that means I don't aspire to be better...or limit my potential... I don't know, but it means I save money for sure and as long as I get booked and do a good job, I'm happy.

Musically otherwise, the musical hero I wish I'd discovered much sooner - David Bowie. I think Joan Armatrading is pretty special too. I'd love to have either of them sat in the Green Room with me.

Another musician here! I started off playing the baritone saxophone, but I don't own one anymore so it's been a while. I'd love to buy one, but they're pretty expensive! D: I also play the accordion and the theremin! I'm looking to get my hands on a Moog Subsequent 37 during the winter to give me something new to play with during pandemic frigid season. I love unusual instruments, if that's not obvious.

The accordion is brilliant! Have you ever attempted to play a Didgeridoo? I have one at home, but have never really been able to get a note out of it!

Well I took enough voice lessons in college to call myself a trained singer. But these days I don't get to sing much outside of my car.

I taught myself some acoustic guitar in college with a few old chord books my mother gave me, along with her old Martin guitar. I don't know what series it was, but it was not a full sized guitar. I do know she bought it second hand from a store in the late 50s - early 60s. But it got stolen a few years ago.

So I'm working on playing again, just because I want to. I have a Yamaha F335 that I'm using to break my fingers back in. And my lady bought me a budget Strat knockoff that has become my new project. Planning to change the bridge, new pickguard that came off a Squire that has a humbucker in the bridge. I'm also planning on changing the tuners and the nut. If all goes well and it plays when I'm done, I plan to build one of those DIY kits. I do eventually want to get a proper Strat (and I'm happy with shooting for a Player series).

I'm not a professional musician, but I sang with civic and symphony chorusses for many years.

Self trained pianist/keyboardist. Play in a band here in CT, also creating 2 side projects: 1 rock one based on the idea of Dethklok/Gorillaz and a rap project based on Post Malone.

I play guitar, drums, piano and sing. I use to like marshall amps, switched to Mesa/boogie and will never play another brand.
Always schecter guitars here

I play bass guitar and I’m also semi-decent on the drums as well. Started playing bass back in 2002 and I’ve loved the beauty of four strings ever since! :D
